Epitaph Records' Head Takes Leave Of Absence

December 2 [16:30 EDT] -- Epitaph Records has announced that its president, former Bad Religion guitarist Brett Gurewitz, will be temporarily handing the reigns of the company to his right hand mind while Gurewitz undergoes treatment for drug addiction.

The label, home of Rancid, NOFX, Pennywise, and Hepcat among others, announced that retail and marketing executive Andy Kaulkin will serve as acting president of Epitaph while Gurewitz steps aside.

A spokesperson for Epitaph says that the move is not expected to effect the label's release schedule, and that new releases from Hepcat (January, 1998), All (April, 1998) and Rancid (April, 1998) should arrive on time.
