In a week laden with reissues and compilations, Aaron Tippin's new album, People Like Us (Lyric Street), and Slobberbone's Everything You Thought Was Right Was Wrong Today (New West) lead Tuesday's releases.

Also due is a Lynn Anderson entry in the Live at Billy Bob's Texas series and reissues of Willie Nelson and Waylon Jennings. Eddie Dean, Roger Miller, Bill Monroe, Tex Ritter, Ernest Tubb and Tex Williams compilations also drop.

Tippin continues to build on his base of traditional, straight-ahead delivery heard on the hits "You've Got To Stand for Something," "Working Man's Ph.D," and "For You I Will" (RealAudio excerpt). He co-wrote five cuts in this 11-song set, including two with his wife, Thea — the first single, "Kiss This," and "The Best Love We Ever Made."

Former MCA Nashville artist David Lee Murphy, who has kept a low profile for the past few years, co-wrote the title track. Fellow singer/songwriters Mark Collie and Leslie Satcher co-penned "I'd Be Afraid of Losing You."

After touring nonstop from 1998-99, rock-country outfit Slobberbone offer their follow-up to 1997's Barrel Chested. Known for their live shows, these Texans are hard-drivin' on this set, highlighted by tracks such as "Josephine," "Bright Eyes Darkened," "Pinball Song" and "That Is All."

Lynn Anderson's Live at Billy Bob's Texas set chronicles a career that frequently crossed over from country to pop. Her first #1 country song, "Rose Garden," also hit #3 in the pop charts in 1970. She went on to rack up 18 top-10 singles.

Also this week, Buddha Records dusts off two notable albums for reissue. Willie Nelson's Just One Love marked a return to his honky-tonk roots when first released in 1995; Waylon Jennings' 1996 Right for the Time captures the edginess of this outlaw who was a teenage bassist for rockabilly legend Buddy Holly. A Nelson import, One Step Beyond (Starburst), also bows Tuesday.

Additionally, Varese Vintage compiles The Very Best Of ... recordings by Noel Boggs, Eddie Dean, Tex Ritter and Tex Williams. Other collections include Ernest Tubb in Early Hits of the Texas Troubadour (ASV), Bill Monroe's 16-song set American Traveler and Oh Boy Classics Presents Roger Miller.
