World-renowned DJ Carl Cox releases Mixed Live, the first installment in a new series from Moonshine Music, on Tuesday.

The album was recorded using several microphones strategically placed in Chicago's Crobar nightclub in May.

"I've put many CDs out there with great DJs, but you can't create the atmosphere in a club," Cox said recently. "So we [recorded] it totally live with the crowd behind it."

Mixed Live features 22 house and techno anthems, including Timo Maas' "Notrance," Smith & Selway's "Cosmopolitan" and Mark Williams' "Altered States."

Innovative German ambient-electronic artist Oval (born Markus Popp) releases his fifth U.S. album, Ovalprocess, on Tuesday. Often credited with founding the burgeoning scene of digitally manipulated electronic soundmakers, Popp invented a software program to create the music on Ovalprocess, which is named for the program. The unnamed tracks on the album, including "# 8" (RealAudio excerpt), bridge the disparate realms of digital static and layers of warm textures.

Veteran UK drum & bass producers DJ Rap and Kenny Ken have joined forces for a mix-CD, Brave New World, out Tuesday on the Detroit label Intuit-Solar. The 13-track collection includes three new collaborations by DJ Rap with the production duo G Squad, including "Subtronics" (RealAudio excerpt), as well as a track by Kenny Ken, "M3" (RealAudio excerpt), and producer Ray Keith, "Shark Attack" (RealAudio excerpt).

Hypereclectic dance and funk artist Jimi Tenor releases his fifth album, Out of Nowhere, on Tuesday. The unpredictable Finnish singer, producer and composer recorded the album in Poland with composer Zbigniew Karkovski and also worked with a 60-piece Polish orchestra. According to Warp Records, Tenor's UK label, the record contains no electronic music or samples, but it does include vocals by the Pro Canto Choir of Lahti on several songs, including "Blood on Borscht" (RealAudio excerpt) and a blind sitar and tabla player named Baluji Shrivastav on six tracks, including "Backbone of Night" (RealAudio excerpt). Tenor's previous album was Organism, released last year on Warp/Sire.

The second installment in the Rewind: The Classics series, released Tuesday in the United States on RTC Records, features memorable tracks from the banner techno year of 1992, as compiled and mixed by veteran UK acid-house DJ Colin Faver. Heavy on the Detroit tip, tracks by Jeff Mills, Underground Resistance, Red Planet (an alias of Rob Hood) and Richie Hawtin rub up against German techno veterans Hardfloor, CJ Bolland and Thomas Heckman on the 21-song mix.

Detroit's DJ Bone is one of the hottest on the local scene, and the second mix-CD on his own Subject: Detroit label features many of the top names, new and old, from the city's storied scene. From legend Jeff Mills' "If (We)" (RealAudio excerpt) to Laurent Garnier's recent single "The Man With the Red Face" (RealAudio excerpt) to Bone's own "The Funk" (RealAudio excerpt), the DJ's style is straight-up funky Detroit techno.
