Eve 6, Goldfinger To Blaze Summer Trail

California rock bands will cross North America in July.

Youthful Los Angeles trio Eve 6 will join California ska-punks Goldfinger on a tour kicking off July 6 in Atlanta.

The bands will head west, through the Deep South and into Texas and Colorado. More dates may be added to the six scheduled shows, according to Rey Roldan, their publicist at Kathryn Schenker Associates.

While touring, Eve 6 will release Horrorscope on July 25, the follow-up to their 1998 eponymous debut. Driven by the catchy hit "Inside Out" (RealAudio excerpt), their first album sold more than 1 million copies. "Promise," the first single from the new album, continues the band's power-pop sound, and last week became the #1 most-added song to modern-rock radio, according to Radio & Records.

Goldfinger, currently touring in Europe, are keeping the ska-rock flame alive, releasing two albums in the past six months. Released last November, Darrin's Coconut Ass — Live from Omaha features eight studio-recorded songs, including an energetic take of the Cure's "Just Like Heaven." They returned to their own material on Stomping Ground, released in March, with upbeat songs like "I'm Down" (RealAudio excerpt) and "Pick a Fight."

Show openers Dynamite Hack originally released their debut album, Superfast, in January, but re-released it last month, with their cover of N.W.A's "Boyz-N-The Hood" finding success on rock radio.
