Wait… Are Miley Cyrus And Courtney Love Collaborating?!

Courtney reveals what REALLY happened when they hung out together.

Last week, we learned the exciting news that Miley Cyrus is working with rocker/songwriter/producer/all-around badass Linda Perry, a.k.a. the craftswoman behind pop/rock gems from artists like Pink and Christina Aguilera.

As if that wasn’t exciting enough, we’ve now learned that our VMAs hostess has buddied up with one of Perry’s former collaborators: none other than THE Courtney Love. Naturally, our heads are already swirling with dreams of a Courtney/Miley collaboration, but first let’s rewind to how these two even linked up in the first place.

In a recent interview with Citizens of Humanity Magazine, Love explained how she and Miley became friends, crediting the wonders of the Twittersphere for bringing them together.

“Twitter is an amazing thing, because people follow each other and they can make friends,” Love explained. “Miley Cyrus asked me to, like, come and have a drink with her at the Chateau, so I went and had coffee with her.”

OK, so there Miley and Courtney are… sipping espresso at the glamorous and typically celeb-packed Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood. Next, Love revealed that she took Miley to director Brett Ratner’s house because apparently he’s one of her BFFs. And, coincidentally, he had also directed Miley’s “7 Things” music video way back in the day, when the former teenybopper was ditching her Hannah Montana wig buh-bye.

"I ended up taking her over to Brett Ratner’s, who’s basically my best friend in town,” Courtney continued. “Miley, when she had Hannah Montana, had already done a video with Brett, and Brett’s house is like the equivalent of your mom’s in a way in LA. It’s like a salon – you go over to Brett’s house, you never know who you’re going to meet.”

That unusual comparison of going to “your mom’s” aside, we can only assume that with Ratner’s creative eye, he surely convinced the two badass blondes to team up and make raucous music together, right? RIGHT?! Sadly, Court put the kibosh on that dream scenario, denying that any tunes are in the works.

“I have not made any music with Miley Cyrus,” she said. “I don’t know that that would be a good match, but she’s really put together and smart. I liked her a lot.”

We respectfully beg to differ with Courtney’s assertion that she and Miley wouldn’t make a good team — the 22-year-old’s already proven herself capable of holding it down alongside punk rock heavyweights like Joan Jett and Laura Jane Grace. But if nothing’s on the radar just yet, we can at least hold out hope that this friendship will turn into a collaboration one glorious day.
