When this show first aired, I wasn't sure how I would feel about it. But, as I continued watching, I grew to really like the characters and what they all stood for and aspired to be. As for the simple-minded critics of the show who said it wasn't "Dominican enough", that is such offensive bull****! I am Dominican-American and I identified more with these young adults than with what most people consider to be a "typical" Dominican. These kids are creative, ambitious, positive individuals trying to make a life for themselves, outside of the hustle. They are working very hard to NOT be the corner drug dealer, the incarcerated felon, the single mother struggling to feed her kids, etc. I applaud MTV and these young adults for sharing their stories on a national level and showing audiences that there is more to the Dominican culture, the Heights neighborhood, young adulthood than what most people think. I really do hope MTV signs this show on for a second season because it truly is one of the better reality/docu-drama shows out there.

I hope this cast gets a season2 even if its by another channel. MTV did not dedicate the time to this show that it did to all of the other crap it shows. i am so happy i no longer watch MTV it is the ********* channel, finally it was showing a good show like this and couldnt even do a good job of portrayinmg it right. i hope washington heights show gets another chance, i love this show and so do all of my friends!!!

There's no other way to say this... That was horrible what Ludwin did. Frankie didn't even have time to digest or react to what was going on. She thought he meant for just a week of vacation or something like that at first. Completely weird. He stopped something from getting serious between her and a guy that really liked her... then is wishy washy... then can't step up and say what needed to be said. He must have called to make sure she'd be home, I guess? She came out, dressed up, ready to go... to face that news? Just horrible.
