On this episode of True Life, we follow Derik and Ginny as they leave the luxuries of everyday life to live completely in nature.

- especially at darts.
I cannot BELIEVE the ignorance in these comments. What these people are doing is amazing. I was said when Derik couldn't make it. The way these people are living is better for the earth, better for everyone. If we all lived sustainably this planet wouldn't be turning into an enormous ball of ****. I felt bad for how I live after watching this. All of us, especially Americans, take far more than our share of water, energy, and resources and we don't put it back. What Ginny said was so true. The attitudes expressed here truly show what greedy pigs people are and why this earth is being destroyed.
Teaching Drum continues to promote anarcho-primitivism at its best! [: We can only have peace on Earth if we have peace with the Earth. Also, if you've ever taken a biology class the clams should be obvious to you. The people need the clams to feed themselves. The surviving clams are the ones that carry on the genetics to the next generation of clams that will feed humans. The ones that have lived the longest- the "elders"- have the best genetic material, and should be left to live so that the clam population continues successfully.
the bit with the clams cracked me up. "this here is an elder!..." God these people are pathetic.
That's what I thought. There's something kind of freaky and cultish about this group. There's nothing wrong with wanting to go back to nature and live off the land but I'm not sure this is the best way to do it. I think there needs to be a progression -- instead of going "whole hog" the way they did.
It's like a vision quest! Yayyy!
Ha ha..the guy at the beginning had electricity and a computer ...such a hardass.
I think Ginny has such a big heart, I like how happy she got talking to her friends and family and how she felt bad for the deer that got hit by a car. She's a sweetheart.
