What if you believed you were a certain gender, but were born the other? Follow Elle and Ted as they have their outsides match their insides.
...who are you to tell someone what to do with their own body?
Train your voice, finish electrolysis, and do hormones for 2 years, Before any surgery. What a dumb choice of order ....
How can you expect to be treated like a woman, if you sound like a male trucker, and have to shave ..... smh
awww RIP to Elle's mom. She was such an angel
Elle was a cute guy. But wow such a supportive mom, I can honestly say I would not be the same. My reaction would've been the same as Ted's family.
Elle's mom was so cool and amazing :)
Best True Life episode I've seen yet!! Having many LGBT friends, I am absolutely amazed and proud at the support systems Elle and Ted had (whether it was family, friends, or both). Elle, I am so sorry about your mother, I definitely shed a tear when I heard that, she seemed supportive beyond belief. To think that she was ultimately the reason you were able to get your gender re-assignment surgery though, is amazing. Best of luck to both of you! Also, I gotta say... those were some damn hot drag kings!
I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!! I WATCHED IT A MILLION TIMES. AND I CANT WAIT TIL MY GIRL GETS HER TOP SURGERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As someone who also goes to Kent (with an outside-looking-in perspective on this topic), I feel like the university community is really accepting of transgendered students and faculty.
aww your comment is so sweet. Thank you for thinking for yourself and not repeating the same mistakes that your parents made <3
@BeEazy Booski- so it is okay for women to go for surgery all the time to alter their face and bodies? that is such a dumb double standard.
I don't get it okay just cause you change some things from male to female you will never be a real female.
The mom died. Oh. This is so sad. Her mother was awesome. So supportive.
For many transgender people, it is that extreme. Many of us struggle for so long to be accepted that depression takes over, threatening our very existence. Surgery doesn't solve all the issues but surgery can, and in Elle and I's case did, save a life. - Ted
wow cool! lol. ALSO "KELLY CLARKSON!" that was funneh!
Ell made a HOT dude lol
How beautiful...Elle's mother died for Elle to become whole. She was such a beautiful, supportive person. Even I, and I am very open-minded, would be slightly unnerved by my child changing genders, though I would love and support them through all their endeavors. I think Ted's family is supportive of him as well. I mean, a black church-going family is going to have issues at first but they came together for him in the end. And his wife is just a gem...that's true love when it doesn't even faze you! A wonderful episode :)
I was so blown away with the amount of support both Ted and Elle received from different areas of their lives. It really gives me hope witnessing acceptance and love so openly and without fear or judgment. Thanks MTV, Ted, Elle, everyone involved with this episode. If one confused teenager sees this and feels less afraid or alone you will have done something amazing for the world. <3
I cried like a BABY when Elle's mom passed. She had such a sweet spirit and was beautiful inside and out. I'm just so happy that they both are now happy with their bodies. :D great.
Ahhhh!!!! Elle (Lincoln) played Jesus in my student film!!!
