Melanie and Kevin are two young people who have decided to ignore their sexual impulses and no longer live in the gay lifestyle. As they try to lead heterosexual lives, they seek support from their friends and family.
What kind of parent would rather see their child suffer and live in a lie than be open and love whoever they want? That's downright child abuse.
I feel bad for Kevin...he seems so brainwashed
The friends trying to be nice and pray for him I feel so terrible lol. They are trying to be good but...come on...
yeah I dunno if I can even watch it.
Are you misusing 'normal' as a synonym for heterosexual? If you are, then you're just contradicting yourself, since you just referred to them as "gays". So, make up your mind. You either consider them gay or not. You can't have it both ways.
this episode makes me so mad!!!!!000a
God wants YOU to be YOU not what your parents want you to be. I can't stand to listen to his parents. They should love him unconditionally. He will never be happy in a straight marriage and the girl will be just as unhappy.
yeah, if you dont want to go to hell
hell ya
I agree that this was hard to watch. Believe me, I know how hard it can be for parents to come to accept their son or daughter's 'lifestyle', but that being said, Melanie's mother is particularly selfish. I wish we could see Melanie come to see her mother for what she truly is: extremely abusive and toxic. Melanie said it well, though. "It's easy to be on the outside looking in, like that's wrong, that's a sin. But if you ain't never been there, you can't tell me nothing about it." Hear hear.
This episode just ended up ******* me off. If both of them continue fighting it they'll end up being unhappy for the rest of there life.
good to see those gays becoming normal.
wow this whole comment was really unnecessary. you can't blame all christians for what a few of them think. get over yourself.
Being gay is not a choice. You religious jerk offs act like homosexual people wake up one day and think "hmmm I think I am going to be gay". It's not the same thing as choosing what shoes or hair color you are going to wear. It is who they are! Shame on you for using God as your shield for your own prejudiced beliefs. All of you people should be dumped in a hole & have bibles thrown at you for an eternity. The freaking bible was written by man. If God wanted us to have a book telling us how we should live our lives & be who we are then why aren't we born with a damn bag full of books? He created all of us different. If he is our all high & mighty why are you speaking for him? Who made you God's spokesman? Who the hell are you people to tell others that they are wrong for being gay? You want to know why these people kill themselves? Because of ******** like you who **** with their heads & make them think they are wrong for something they can't help. You want to judge someone go judge the Casey Anthony's, Ted Bundy's, Jeffrey Daughmer's, Osama Bin Laden's...Those people deserve your hatred & evil words.
You werent broke because you were gay. You didn't smoke weed because you were gay. You didnt live in a garage because you were gay. You choose those lifestyles regardless of your sexual orientation. You don't choose the gay lifestyle, you're born into it. You are not successful because you are straight. you chose to be successful while you were trying to be straight. You can choose to be successful because you're gay. Your bad life is not in relationship with you being a homosexual. God bless. He loves you regardless of your sexual orientation.
It's ridiculous how religion can even cause a parent to not love their own child. Your opinion on homosexuality should not justify harming anyone, let alone their own child. People who use religion as a reason to hate others sicken me. I don't care what the bible says, it's a book and it is not the sole rules of the world. Also, if the message the bible tries to convey is "Do Unto Others As You Would Have Others Do Unto You", then hating others for their sexuality is totally contradictory to what the message is supposed to be. One cannot help who they are attracted to, no matter how many times they pray or try to distract themselves.
So it's "sinful" for her daughter to be a lesbian, but it's ok for her mum to stab her? Pretty sure it's against the bible to hurt those around you.
This **** is ridiculous. Religious nuts never cease to amaze me. If you could just choose to be gay, NO ONE would be gay. No one would decide to live as a second class citizen while be ostracized from their family and friends. I get it, the bible says it's a sin. You know what else the bible says is a sin? Eating shellfish, cutting your hair, mixing wool and linen, and innumerable other idiocies. This poor girl was unfortunate enough to have a close minded bigot as a mother. Christians, shut up.
I dont know if I can sit through this whole episode. I am such a supporter of gay rights and to see these people having to feel so much shame and be told they need to change by their selfish ignorant families... its just really hard. Being gay is not a choice. It is not a sin. It is not unnatural. Being gay is ok and one day all will see it that way.
This is the most ignorant True Life episode I've seen. I hope one day, they all realize its okay to be gay.
