My mom deals with paranoia schizophrenia and I've had to deal with it my whole life. The state that she's in right now more closely resembles Joshes out of all three of the people just more severe I believe. However when she is on her medication she a lot like Amber. I've never opened up to anybody how I really feel except my brothers who know exactly what I'm going through. I can't really ever have people come over because she's so paranoid that she thinks "threatening" her as she calls it. It's hard to get help for my mom because she's just in the state where she wants help from anybody and frankly I believe the people in family aren't trying hard enough. If there's anybody that can help I would greatly appreciate it because this truly is my last resort.
I feel so much for Josh, I wish he wasn't so lonely.
...and, besides, chemical imbalances can be genetic, or can be caused by a physical damage of the brain, but are also connected w the industrial chemical food and beverages and the chemical aseptic neon environment u live in!

The only people more likely to be cursed with this illness are born in the winter/early spring months. I feel for Ben, before getting stable with bipolar 1, being in crowds was so disorienting (chaotic, hard to locate where voices are coming from...). It still freaks me out to hear random music on a train or indistinct noises. Josh needs to be more proactive in his treatment, if something isn't working you have to trust psychiatrists.
um why are both black people half white, like that makes it seem like mulattos are more likely to be schizophrenic, kiinda wierd

Maybe if he'd stop smoking pot he wouldn't be hearing half of the voices he thinks he hears.
I am a new mom to this disease but if my son gets to a point 5 years down the road and refuses meds but smokes bud to self medicate which makes him worse, I can't say if I would or would not come accross as a heartless ***** as well . I hope my son and I never find out! We are keeping the communication open.
I just realized that Josh had a birthday while they were filming. I don't know how long they were filming though. I like Josh's mom, she does seem to care about him. I like that she considers letting him stay for the weekend, and asks where he is going. Josh is very smart, you can tell by his vocabulary. I do hope that Ben gets better, he is fighting hard against his depression and schizo-affective disorder. Though I am sure going to that store was very difficult. I am very happy for Amber. She is doing well now, hopefully that continues for a very long time. Her mom seems very supportive. I love how each of them stays motivated, despite challenges. Josh is seen contemplating what he needs to do, and going to his job. Ben keeps track of his meetings, and takes his medicine. Amber also remembers to take her medicine, and study. :)
My son was recently diagnosed. Words can't describe the devistation watching your boy (who is a man but still my boy) unravel before your eyes. It's a despair our whole family is feeling. I commend these three people for sharing their stories. It has given me some insight as to what my son is feeling. Now we move forward...

Ben looked really different before he got schizophrenia. I guess it's mainly the weight gain that altered his appearance. Poor guy, he seems so sweet. I hope he continues to improve. It would be awesome to get an update on all three people from this episode.
