Spring, Lauren, and Andrew are three young people whose extremely rigid diets are making it difficult to maintain the other relationships in their lives.
wait so i dont get it....andrew is a vegan. is all he eats is rice, vegetables, and water?
Spring needs some INTENSE therapy to change her way of thinking. Killed dead peanuts? seriously? she needs help.
Spring is a selfish *****. What kind of mother would let their child live around that lifestyle? hello body image issues/eating disorders in her future
Obviously. And as a white person, I resent that. Ignorant *******.
I understand Andrew. It difficult to trust ingredients and products in this generation. Many foods are genetically modified and even some ingredients have been proven by the CRF to contain possible carcinogens. There's no coincidence that Europe has banned over 1000 chemicals including petroleum which is used in too many products to list yet, America has only banned 9.
geez these people take eating healthy to far..do you realize that damn near everything can give you cancer..the sun can give you cancer...certain birth control can cause cancer..stressing about your meal times and what your eating can give you cancer!! they need to just relax or get some help because living like that will lead them to an earlier death
Okay, I just wanted educate some folks out there. Look up the history behind pasteurization. Louis Pasteur (the man who invented pasteurization) was a genius of his time. He was able to dispel the myth that life does not form spontaneously (many people believed that life could just appear without any reproduction). He was a microbiologist and saw that if one could heat a product, then it would lessen the risk of ingesting microbes, which is what PASTEURIZATION IS. Anyone who deems raw milk as a safe product is absolutely incorrect. There is no primary research claiming that it is MORE beneficial to one's health. Do you know why people had a lower life expectancy rate hundreds of years ago? Because of inventions like pasteurization, it has allowed us to eat cleaner and safer foods. If you would like to read FACTS then start doing research on PUBMED. Stop reading bogus articles you find on the internet that some "health guru" claims that they know what they are talking about. There's an old saying that "I know that I know nothing." What blows my mind is that these health gurus think that just because they lose 5 lbs. they automatically claim themselves as experts in nutrition. I happen to hold two degrees in dietetics and exercise science. Guess what, I do not know ANYTHING. The more you know, the LESS you know.
I have to agree, Andrew does seem redickulous.
i cant stand how selfish Spring is. talking about HER food and HER standards of eating and saying that her diet is the hands down most important thing in her life. im sure her husband and daughter appreciate that. you need to stop being so damn selfish and go into therapy.000aAndrew-WOW. he sounds like a complete moron. His views on cancer and food...blew my mind. You badly need therapy man.000aLauren-I can understand that she wants to eat healthy, but I think she really is way too extreme and its effecting her relationships. Shes needs to get it together too
there are PLENTY of ways for a vegan or vegetarian to talk about their eating habits without coming off superor, TRY HARDER.
Andrew sounds like a moron in the Natural Cafe when he says he got the cheese and sour cream taken out of his food. "Do you think cancer is fun, Dad?" 000a000aI didn't get the memo that dairy will AUTOMATICALLY give you cancer.
Right? Clearly the guy is half Asian.
Here's my take on this episode and advice to all three of these dumbasses:000aYou only live once. Enjoy the food you like, within reason. Splurge on a pizza once a week or two.000aYou dont need to eat pizza and mcdonalds every day, but theres also no point in your life revolving not letting you food touch plastic or eating no more than 13 almonds. I feel sorry for these people.
I literally just finished watching Forks over Knives like 3 min ago
I find it offensive that Andrew claims to be a vegan. I'm a raw vegan, and I get plenty of protein and all the nutrients I need from my diet. Veganism is not about health, it is about animal rights and refusing to support the slaughter of animals by eating them. "Your body needs meat"...that's sad. It shows how much she knows about health! What was the most offensive was when Andrew said "animal-friendly slaughterhouse"....really??? REALLY? that's like saying "Jewish-friendly Nazi extermination camp".
I'm not surprised that these orthorexics consistently have problems with their families and friends because if I was a friend of theirs, I wouldn't waste my time hanging out with them anymore. They are constant killjoys and a fun night out with friends would turn out to be anything but. They all need to go to the same rehab facilities that also treat anorexics and bulimics...and I wouldn't be surprised that the orthorexics have a background of a traumatic childhood or traumatic event when they were younger that triggered this eating disorder.
I'm sure there are some non-white folks who also suffer from this disorder.
wow, how ignorant. Our bodies NEED meat? Seriously????
Hate the freakin' fact that MTV can't afford a better system...having to refresh my screen every 10 mins. sucks because the picture freezes or goes black. Really. I also think the extremes these people go through for pure food to look like human walkin' sticks &/or not get cancer is dumb. Do you not watch the news every day they find something new that gives you cancer. One day the air will be broadcasted as cancerous Is there really anything out there that doesn't have some form of bad? Being a vegan or eatting healthy is cool beans. To each their own but simmer on the craziness people.
I totally agree that kid is a total weirdo. (Btw, you're cooking on non-stick Teflon frying pans; hello, perflurooctanoic acid toxicity.) But there is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong with a healthy vegan lifestyle. Look at the China Study by T. Colin Campbell, the Forks Over Knives documentary by Dr. Caldwell Esselstyn for a more watered down version, the 80/10/10 book by Dr. Douglas Graham, or even the Seven Day Adventist study which showed vegans lived an average of 7 years longer than the general population of California. Thanks again, MTV, for vilifying a legit lifestyle...
