Learn the facts, Type 1 diabetes is an auto immune diseae, it can not be cured only managed. Don't make such ridiculous comments if you don't know or understand the disease!

As a type 1, I can relate to all of the struggles of a diabetic. However, I really only feel for Kristen. She's trying to manage her diabetes and struggles with a malfunctioning insulin pump. The other two are simply struggling out of their own recklessness.

being a type 1 diabetic for the past 16 years i cannot stand to see that there are still people so ignorant to say such things in regard to a disease that grows exponentially yearly. My pancreas was attacked during an autoimmune response when I was 6. I was a crazy active child with an almost unbelievably balanced diet and I still came to become a diabetic. Today, I am 22 years old and Ive grown to so much as not even enjoy fatty or sugary meals, I dont drink soda at all, and I work out regularly. I am still very much a diabetic, and until a MEDICAL cure is made available without illiciting another immune response I will remain a type 1 diabetic. 000aAlso, way to pick the worst diabetics to bring to life for the show MTV. I'm glad the treatments and struggles were brought to light, but these people all clearly have no regard for the longevity of their lives.

I get where he is coming from in terms of the college experience, and I feel for him that he cannot take part in the party scene without having to put himself at risk for putting himself in the hospital or worse, death. I have colitis which is no where near like what he has, what they have, but I know what it is like to not be able to drink because if I do I get real, real, real, sick. Dude, sorry you are going through that. Good luck with everything and I hope you have a wonderful and safe experience at college. :D

I have type 2 diabetes. My diabetes is controlled by pills and insulin when my blood pressure is High. I 1st got diabetes when i was pregnant with my daughter.. gestational diabetes is something you have to controlled but when you have gestational diabetes your baby can be a big baby. you have to watch what you eat and work out and walk drink lots of water... I know have type 2 and am doing what i need to do to make sure that i can control it It just take time and dedication to get it under control

I'm a type one diabetic, I was diagnosed when I was 84 POUNDS, 5 FEET 3 INCHES TALL, AND TWELVE YEARS OLD. I was diagnosed because it runs in my family, and I was born wih only half of a pancreas, that unfortunately stopped producing insulin. Don't you dare try and tell me, a nineteen year old female who is in recovery from an Eating Disorder was diagnosed with Type One Juevenile Diabetes at a young age was because of my DIET. So, dumb ass, get your facts straight. Type Two Diabetes can be reversable and managed b diet and exercise.

i didn't even have a profile but i had to make one just to tell you how wrong you are two months ago i was diagnose with type two diabetes as you can see Sept 7 was mi 20th birthday mi mom has it mi grandma had it dating all the way back to mi great great great grandma and most of mi family members mi mom always kept us eating healthy so that we didn't get it but she could not prevent it from happening not all people get diabetes from a poor diet some of it is inherited mi aunt and uncle was born with it for god sake and before you go judging people at least have hardcore facts you don't know what a daily struggle it is to live with it at such a young age until you go thru it i use to tell myself that as long as i eat healthy ill never get it but i was very wrong but i wont let it define who i am and who i turn out to be

Type one diabetes is an AUTO IMMUNE DISEASE in case anyone actually cared to know. Your body attacked and kills cells in your pancrease that make insulin that our body needs to survive. Becoming a vegan will not change that.I am a healthy 21 year old who has had this for 17 years and trust me, if it were always as simple as being vegan I would have done it. Type 2 diabetes and type one diabetes are two compleatly different things, So please before you go being nasty and rude and inconsiderate do a little research, dont just assume every case is the same because I can assure you. Its not. No one deserves a disease like thiseven if they are over weight. End of story. Show some knowledge and compassion or dont comment at all because as someone who has to live this every single day of my life no vacations no sick days 24/7 I have diabetes andno matter what I eat or do or dont do I still have it, its people like you who make it so muchharder. Do your research or butt out.

You definatly need to do research, It can't be cured just by switching your diet. There are alot of people who are healthy and in shape who have diabetes. My brother is one, He's never been overweight of even close. So definatly learn more about it before you come off as ignorant and dumb.

Your case seems like a more rare case than most. I know another girl who is thin as a rail and a dancer that's in shape. She's also genetically predisposed to diabetes. She's in a similar boat. But, the vast majority of type 2 diabetics develop the illness as a result of not living a healthy lifestyle. So most type 2 diabetics can cure themselves. Again, this is just general statistics.000aThere is ABSOLUTELY NO CURE for type 1. All we can do is manage it and take care of ourselves the best we can.

This episode REALLY frustrates me.000aI have type 1 diabetes. I was diagnosed at 14, which is actually pretty late for juvenile diabetes. I am underweight and have always been petite. I know other diabetic kids who are in fine shape and are at a healthy, normal weight. So it's really aggravating that these people were selected to represent diabetics. 000aWe're not all irresponsible and negligent toward our health.000aThanks MTV, for making it seem like all diabetics are overweight, unhealthy, and lazy.

an over bearing parent comes with being diabetic. my husband is type one and his mom is always on him about checking his sugar. shes a worry wart. but at the same time i understand why. because my husbands been hospitalized many times for too high glucose levels. it makes me sad. i wish there was an inexpensive cure for diabetics.

Jen is lucky her baby was OK. Time will tell whether or not the kid will be an idiot due to his mother's horrible diet while she was pregnant with him. People don't always do the smartest things, but damn, at least eat a decent diet when carrying a pregnancy. Give the kid half a chance to be healthy at least.

oh only if it was that easy.. insulin is not a CURE!! that is why endocrinologists, Diabetes RN's, support groups, and other professionals help with the management of diabetes...its not an easy fix..or really a fix at all.
