I think Evelyn was still deciding whether or not she wanted to stay in the game. She had a tough decision to make, and she probably wasn't sure what to do. She was probably thinking about it up until the last minute when she decided to jump down and quit the game.

Although Evan really likes Kenny, biggest bromance ever, you should never question the fact that Evan is the brain of the operation. He is not a follower but the leader of the champion team.
