i don't think the girls were being malicious, and it's possible neiher of them even know about black-face vaudeville (especially the girl from brazil). that said, the instant i saw them come on screen my eyes got SO wide. and they clearly had some inkling it was questionable; one of them said "this isn't racist is it?" it was stupid drunkenness, and ty obviously overreacted. their parody wasn't really about race, in their minds at least. the 20-somethings of today definitely poke fun at race relations more freely than earlier generations, but mixed relationships are still a bit of a touchy subject. imo.

you can't tell someone what is offensive to them. Some people have different feelings. What may not be offensive to you could be to someone else. They should have been more considerate and people take jokes differently. I had to learn the hard why and so did Emily.
