ROCK ON RA FOR LIFE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
"youre leaving americans with less options youre leaving kids with less options and when you leave people without options there are repercussions and you leave people with maybe one option and you never want to see it come to that. but i think this song and this video is talking about when you leave people with the only option. people aren't just statistics they arent just recievers of laws madse by a higher power. they are people that once you back them into a corner they're gonna fight back" words out of tims mouth please rza2 for the love of god STFU
ok rza2 i think you need to work on your music symbolizim and reasearch a little bit more. If you knew anything about RA you would know they are against violence. That is the entire basis of the band. Non Violence. This video is showing what happens when ppl are no longer able to peacefully protest. They arent telling ppl to go out and bomb. They are showing what happens when ppl become desperate and feel they have no other options. RA doesnt support it, they are just showing what can and does happen
awesome video reminds me of give it all
Jesus guys, watch the Making The Video : Re-Education (Through Labor) at first before posting stupid comments. That video explains a lot.
Re-education through labor is a Chinese communist policy to send "capitalists" (you know, anyone who disagreed with Mao) to the countryside to die through hard labor. So are we supposed to support this Marxist idea of bombing "capitalist" symbols such as skyscrapers? The lyrics of the song are otherwise meaningless. I'm glad the band has some progressive ideas, but maybe they should keep to making videos about the torture of meat or telling punks to stay in school or volunteer for human rights instead of being terrorists. Blagovest - not even sure you understand JFK's comment or how you are using it. If you think it supports bombing civilians than you obviously don't understand English. It supports peaceful protest, which RA apparently doesn't believe in. Timothy McVeigh, you've got some supporters here.
they change my life how dare u say that keep up the good work guys
Okay people ffs, start WATCHING!!!! Why there are bombing chicago, why is the violance?! " Those who make peaceful revolution impossiable will make violent revolution inevitable" The JFK quote explanes it all to you in 5 seconds and you're posting lame comments... acl1134 I agree with you mate!
I have been a fan of Rise Against since they opened for Strung Out in 2002. I have witnessed their progression. I understand that some may feel as if they are fake punks. For punks and non-punks alike we are not accustomed to seeing these ideas with this sound in such a main stream media. There are times I wonder if they are selling out a little but I know they have not changed it is only the audience growing larger. More accept and relate to their words and music, selling out for them would be to refuse their success meaning their message would reach less, help less. Before any rash judgments please learn about them, they actually care. I don't care one bit about the people of this messed up world but they do. As for the video, I watched it and thought "Damn, they are going to get in trouble" because I know everyone sees only what they want and only hears what they want and as you read this, if you are against you are forming your arguments in your mind and forgetting my points. If you agree, you are probably just skimming and nodding your head, not much different really. What is art, be it literature or cinematography, for if not to illustrate a point? Listen to the words of the song, the pictures match. Like showing a woman in a tight red dress in a movie, they don't need subtitles telling your she's a *****. This is a 3 minute film packed with symbolism. That is all it is. And it's not even the best, it's very good for a music video and probably all they could get away with but it's not award winning. So, enjoy it or don't but realize it's art, not life.
Commenting on the actual vid, I found vestiges of "Give it All" throughout. There was that vibe that the biker gang gave that just make em feel badass. The fact that they were all very different made them a lot like the people in G.i.A too. I think Chicago was just used as a symbol. RA's not conspiring with terrorists.
