@Carmalektra22- If our country is founded on christian principles and only those, then there would be no such thing as war. Our soldiers, who I do have much respect for, still kill people and that isn't very christian if you ask me. Yes they are fighting for our freedom and putting theirs lives at risk for us and I am truly thankful for that, but they homosexuals are willing to do the same.. and for who? People so close-minded like yourself to tell them to go away? They deserve respect as much as any heterosexual in the military because they are willing to serve and protect their country. And also, if your so much for our "christian principles" you'd also know that God loves everyone, even the gays! And he would not turn them away, they may be punished and they may not be but you are not the one who decides that. In the end, your opinion is just your opinion and mine is just mine but God's is what really counts. I say just let them be, because they're going to do what they want anyway so everyone being negative is just wasting their time. Go live your life, and let them live theirs!

Ok, if this is really about freedom and equality then let the mosque be built next to the memorial...they are citizens too why shouldn't they be able to worship where they want to worship right? I agree, Our country is founded on christian principles therefore we expect the people fighting for us to have the same principles. People coming here expect freedom and try to change the way our governments runs I'm sorry but if you go to any other country they will not change their foundation for you. If you don't like the way we do things go somewhere else. and don't say that sexual orientation is who you are, it is a choice it may not feel like it is but it is. Everything that requires action is a choice. Our military has the right to kick someone out because the rules are made very clear before you join.

So if a gay military personnel feels the need to say out loud that he or she is gay..then that is their god given right HOWEVER if a straight military personnel decides that he or she is going to speak out about their discomforts of the gay community being in the military then that is their right to do so as well...But to inflict harm on a gay person just because they are in the service is not lawful and should be discharged from the service do to hazing. but there is no law against speaking your mind gay or not gay.
