The top 12 is formed, Kara DioGuardi is brought to tears, and the week ends with Scott and Lambert shockingly getting the boot. (3.12.10)
laurirose: 'Disagree 180 degrees about Alex Lambert, but here's a thought about the skewing: I used to bad-mouth those text-happy tweens, too, until I learned about votefortheworst.com, whose prime directive is to sabotage American Idol with bloc voting for the contestants lowest on the popularity/talent pole. They've been around a few years. There are also people with buck$ who just hire teams to guarantee -- oh, let's say 20,000-50,000 votes for their loved one to stay on week after week... AI should address the issue, but their mobile phone sponsors are happy with all the calls, and all that texting. Eventually, though, as the skewing makes the show more and more dull, people will become disenchanted and the show will implode. After last week's debacle, it has already lost its luster for me and I can't bring myself to watch any more than 60 seconds!
As long as Crystal Bowersox is in this season, there is redemption & hope! ... But how can we deal w/the rest of the results? ... Like, wth do people see in Tim Urban, who likely made poor Leonard Cohen want to turn from a Zen Buddhist into a hateful war-monger - ugh! ... And even worse, imho, was the pathetic stage presence (or rather "absence"!) of Alex Lambert, who so botched Ray LaMontagne's "Trouble" that poor Ray must have been thinking to prohibit Idol from ever letting anyone sing his brilliant songs ever again.. .... And teen fail Katie instead of Lilly? Seriously?!? .... Idol must find a way to prohibit Tweens from mega-text voting for other teenagers like themselves, which made this week's results so horribly skewed toward 'cuteness' & away from anything resembling serious talent.. ..... except thank god, where this comment began, for Crystal and the adults voting for her! ..... Love ya, Jim.. keep speaking truth to power ;) .... (and abrazos to @Glambert696969 if u run into him in a closet somewhere!) .... PS. still interested in the potential of Lee, Big Mike & Andrew, and of course lovin' Siobhan... ... look forward to seeing what they all do w/the Stones songs next week...
This is the first season i am actually watching as it happens.. wow what emotionally draining show. [watched 8 in reruns] The concept of the show is really confusing me at this point. Tim, dude, please tell me you are holding back.. Alex... noooo.. so bummed. Didi, i don't trust you. Jim still love your recaps.
I can't believe Katelyn, Alex, and Lilly got voted off. They were three of the best vocalists this season!
I think season 8 was so fabulous, that it killed Idol. Each week just reminds me of how much I miss Kris and Matt being on TV every week.
Alex and Lily should not not have gone this week. That was all sorts of wrong.
#IMissSeaon8.... that is all.. Thank goodness we have you to get us through this tranwreck of a season.. : ) Its all about Bowersox and Magnus now.
I'm actually quite surprised by how much I don't care at all this season. It's like season 6 all over again!
OMG, Jim! What's up with the West Coast commuting? I was totally jonesing without my East Coast early morning fix of "Idol in 60 Seconds."
:((((((((((((( i really all i can say about this week. >>>:( is really all i can say about this season of idol.
