The men didn't impress Jim Wednesday night, not even Big Mike. (3.10.10)
This morning some djs on XM radio were comparing this season's group to the magic that Adam, Allison and Kris brought last year; saying this year's group is at best "mediocre". I so agree; just NO magic and is it just me, or do none of them seem to have any stage presence either?? Also, Kara is beyond awful this year; she's ridiculously unlikeable & I really can't stomach her anymore. How to act completely unprofessional while you get paid millions of dollars a year!! (Pay attention to Ryan Seacrest's clever digs at her - subtle and achingly funny!!) I never bought into the need for a 4th judge anyway, it just bogs the show down. I love Ellen, how could anyone not? But she is out of her element as an Idol judge, IMO. Wow, this season really blows compared to last year - that's for sure. Don't envy you, Jim, having to critique the group this year!!!
I continually feel like the judges are watching a different show. Kara's tears for Big Mike were over the top and ridiculous. At the moment, none of the boys are particularly good. I think when they said that girl would win this season, they meant that the chose terrible guys on purpose to make sure a girl wins by default.
I agree with Jim almost entirely. Michael Lynche is over the top. Aaron Kelly was not too good but I hope he is not sent home. He is very good but we have not seen what he can really do yet. I don't think Ellen should be hugging the contestants. I do agree with many of her comments.
Ya I too wanted her to shut up. She is turning into a Paula/Mary From SYTYCD hybrid this season. Chick also can't seem to deicide who she has the biggest crush on. One minute it's Casey then she changes her mind and it's someone else.
One decent so so performance by Tim does NOT make him worthy of getting one the top 12 spots and defiantly does NOT make him a contender to win this thing. Andrew I am sorry but he just proved even more last night that he peaked during Hollywood week. Although I like that he took chances and gave us songs with his own acoustic spin. He just didn't bring it last night and I think he is in serious danger tonight and is probably going home. If not he is barely gonna squeak by. Aaron I like that he went back to the country genre and picked a country track. But DUDE he tanked last night. He just wasn't good. I think Aaron like Andrew are in danger of being sent packing tonight. Tim and Todrick too. Casey, Lee, Alex and Mike should be safe and def. deserve to make it into top 12 and next weeks show.
yeah that was about it. I want Tim and Alex to stick around tho, just to see what they do. Especially Tim, he looked so terrified when Ellen ran up to him. I personally think he is holding back and actually playing the game.
LOL Oh Jim, you look like you need a nap, bb. And I am jealous of random hug woman! That said, I think we *are* still rooting for Alex Lambert, at least I am. There's something really interesting about his voice, which is more than I can say for most of the guys. I am kinda over Andrew now, though, which is a shame. I loved Mike's performance, though I wasn't as moved as Kara. Never liked Aaron, Lee, or Todrick, and nothing I saw tonight changed that. I think Tim is improving, but he's seriously not a contender at all. My picks for top 6 guys - Mike, Casey, Alex, Todrick, Lee, Tim. i think Andrew and Aaron are going home. Finally, I think my biggest beef with season 9 (other than the fact that it isn't season 8) is how the judges and producers totally screwed these kids who should honestly have been made to wait for a few more years. Were there seriously no more *adults* they could have put through to Top 24????
Tonight I just wanted Kara to shut up... She sounded like SHE was trying to hard ;) My 5 year old kept calling Alex Lambert, Jackson, because she said he looks like the guy from Hannah Montana!
