Eminem of course. He had the best selling of the year (Recovery) and proved that he is still capable of spitting hot rhymes as before.

Wayne aint doin that, Jay aint doin that, Best selling artist of the decade, which he was absent for half of it, crazy eminem didnt make the list, prolly cuz hes white, must be embarrassing to them that the best rapper of all time is white hahahaha.where are the white judges at? they listen to rap tooooo......

*** it is 422am in the morning where i am and i just got finished watching the so called Hottest MCs in the game and had to literally get up get out of bed to come complain with everyone else on the site. Where the HELL is Em at? Are you kidding me, that dude on the show had the nerve to cmopare Waynes verse to eminems on the forever song? Em tore up that song and ripped everyone on it, showed every guys true colors in ONE verse!! Ive never been more upset, im a JayZ fan the blueprint 3 is in my car right now but even i know em is the best rapper alive and def the hottest MC right now! Im ****** off and dissapointed in MTV and this stupid show and everyone on that panel were racist idiots!! Em will end anyones career and we all know the truth so its all good! Gucci mann at #6 and rick ross at #5 what the hell is this world coming too! Em is number 1 hoes, deal with it!!
That's an ignorant comment, JayZ wrote a letter to the heads of the list explaining why he thinks Em should be on the list and how the list has lost credibility by ranking artists like Gucci above Em. Lil Wayne wrote a letter to the same effect. As much as I love Gucci, I'm surprised he got the list before Em
i think Drakes overrated for one(Didn't he say he was better than Tupac and Biggie? R u Serious?). And Eminem should definitely be on this list considering he murked everyone on Forever. Drake, Lil Wayne, and Kanye West all got murked by Em. (Not to mention Em also murked Jay on Renegade... this might be an old reference but I think it's a legitimate reference when considering the people on the list) And how isn't that summer beef with Nick Cannon and Mariah not buzz worthy? The Warning is Em at his best...Em also won that Best Rapper EVER Vibe poll(beating out Tupac). I'm not an Eminem d***rider but I just think this list is garbage and i hope that whoever got snubbed in it murks the people that put it together...

em should have without a doubt at least been number #2 (if not #1), much less making top 10 in the the list, this is just MTV trying to save face after omitting one of the greatest artists ever to grace rap/hiphop, from album sales to ground breaking hits, all the artists on there are great but honestly, to say that you are judging from the "now" and "present" activities and name jay #1 cuz of ALL he has done throughout his career and his mile stones is whack losos way (awesome album barely scratched 100k sales and he made it, how long ago did kanye drop 808s, or did he make the list based on colabs? in short, in IMO em is #1 but after making such a ******** list, i dnt care what kind of list MTV wants to compile about anything anymore........ not even a mention for cudi, or asher roth and talking about current events

First- Em does deserve 2 be onda list but most of you are exagerating saying that he should be #1, He did not have a buzz like that this year, Jay deserve 2 be #1. Second- I dont understand how jada aint make this list, His album was crazy, Plenty of mixtapes and with plenty of hood bangas. Third- How is gucci on this list, not only that how is he ranked higher than Fab. Fabs album was crazy. Nonstop airplay, all you hear is Fab right now, he should of been at least # 5. Last- whut happend to Kid Cudi, Wale, Joe Budden, and T.I.

Not only is it clear that MTV does not care what fans or the public think (they ignored their own poll where fans voted Eminem #1), but they are trying to stay relevant with the youth by voting rappers who don’t even an album out yet, to the top (Sorry Drake, we will be happy to take this back once you drop a debut album that does well). Oh and we forgot that Eminem also released his own video game (with Jay-Z), is headlining the Voo-Doo Festival and is currently working on his 2nd album in a year, Dr Dre's "Detox," 50 Cent's "Before I Self Destruct" and possibly signing Slaughterhouse. It Seems that MTV wants to USE Eminem to help their ratings, web hits, video plays and exposure but they aren't willing to give credit, where credit is do. Last year and the year before Eminem did not make the list either. We aren't saying that Eminem should always be #1 but maybe next year the most popular and biggest hip hop artist of all time could break their top ten.
