Soulja Boy shrugs off the publish lashing he got from Ice-T. (8.4.08)
go on Soulja Boy ..yo tell em!!!! lol
I honestly believe that it was childish on Ice-T's behalf... and just like David Banner said "If you don't like it then, don't even buy it" You don't have to listen to his music or look at his videos... Just like how most people don't like Coldplay (because of what reason idk) And no disrespect to Ice-T but Soulja Boy got his style and ou have yours and you lookin like a hata, hatin on a child (even tho he is 18)so just let Soulja do him and you do you... aite..
HIPHOP is not dead, it is just in an ACCOMA, we're in need of more Artist, well, more lyricist. I absolutely agree with David Banner 50% on "Don't Buy his Music!" the other 50% is someone actually needing to school him on creating substance. Souja Boy produces, "Hot Pocket" music, unfortunately he isn't the only one producing it. It is just a new form of HIPHOP music. Soulja Boy and I share the same B-Day, there must be something positive about him. Hopefully!
Ice-T just knows that more record sales does not equal more skill. Soulja Boy Tell'em sold a bunch of records. His flow and tracks ARE garbage. You gotta have respect when an O.G. says something like that because THEY HELPED LAY THE FOUNDATION, AND IT CAME FROM THEM. Ice-T has been there since 1982. I respect Nas saying what he said, because he takes Hip-Hop seriously. He knows that the Hip-Hop on MTV is mostly just for making money, and you have to have credibility amongst other emcees and rappers in order to not be a laughing stock. Nas has that, he's been repping since he was Kid Wave back in 1991. Kid Wave and DJ Ill Will. Ice-T has that credibility as well, he built the foundation for gangsta rap. Real Hip-Hop headz may give Soulja Boy props on his business mind and street entrepreneurship, fashion, etc. But as a rapper...he's a laughing stock. It started off that Hip-Hop changed MTV, bringing a new vibe to it. Now, MTV has changed Hip hop culture to something else. I can't even call the majority of things labeled Hip hop that because we are so far from the original message, it by definition is lost. The birth of Hip-Pop culture eclipsed Hip-Hop Kulture due to the media's raping of the true spirit of Hip-hop for a quick buck. -Schizo (Furious Styles Crew)
That was childish on Ice T's behalf. Just like David Banner said, "...if you don't like the man's music, then don't buy it". Yuuul!
