"It's emotional, I'm warning you," the singer says from the piano bench. (5.27.08)
Wow...no wonder American idol passed up on having Sony sign this kid. He actually has SUBSTANCE and FEELING in his music unlike these cookie cutter kids they shell out year after year. (minus 1 or 2) You remind me of musics better days.
This song is excellent. I really hope his CD sounds like this and not something over produced. Thanks for posting the lyrics. Anyone know why google doesn't link here when you search for Josiah Leming?
Wow this is so original this dude is really amazing his voice is unique, it attracts you to the lyrics DESTANNI
ALSO. Lyrics corrected... Take me to the church where my father and my mother pray for me and my dear brother while the angels undercover cursed our names children do you believe in heaven; tell me do you believe in heaven cause there's a place that's filled with flames and it's calling out your name so you best believe in heaven with your blind and absent faith take me to the park where we played when light went dark and even Jesus didn't matter cause our souls were filled with laughter and our laughter reached to heaven while our sorrows went to hell and take me to the fields where my father spent his days slaving for a beggars wage the day is over turn the page they'll be another when you wake waiting in your cup of coffee and you hear our mother coughing as you whisper to her softly but we still hear every strain, we still hear ever strain; and take me to the house where my mother rests her bones, in that chair she rests her bones, quite the unsuspecting throne lock me out but don't deny her what she owns cause I don't believe in heaven, no I don't believe in heaven there's a place that's filled with flames, and it's calling out my name, cause I don't believe in heaven lock me out but don't deny her what she owns, lock me out but don't deny her what she owns and take me to the church where my father and my mother prayed for me and my dear brother while the angels undercover cursed our names
Man - you've got to stop creating so many songs that bring me to tears. Your talent is unsurpassed - absolutely amazing, haunting, visceral, real, true and simply JOSIAH.
I posted this video on youtube for those who can't watch this version. It's not the best, but you can def. see it and hear it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lFFeR7IMikM
er...so what name is the new song?
I'm so envious of everyone who's able to hear this new song.:-(. I'm Canadian, so I can't access this video. So, myself and a million other Canucks will wait to buy Josiah's first CD, coming out soon. JOSIAH IS THE GREATEST!!!!
Oh, no, I'm not being critical! THANK YOU very much for adding the lyrics. It's just that I can't stop listening to it ...
I had it all spaced out nicely, MTV doesn't allow all of it though, and it smushed it all up. Sorry for the mistakes, I did it in like 5 minutes.
Sorry! Should have separated those first two, since they were from different parts of the song. One more: and you hear OUR MOTHER COUGHING as you whisper to her softly. I believe this is a reference to his mother's illness.
Wow! Another amazing song by Josiah! The lyrics on this one are so hauntingly intimate, I almost feel guilty for listening -- like I am hearing someone's very private thoughts. It gave me chills! Thanks for providing us with the lyrics, LizByrd. I hear a couple of things differently: So you'd best believe in heaven with your BLIND AND ABSENT FAITH The day is over, turn the page, there'll be another when you WAKE, waiting in your cup of coffee Wow ... just wow! I can't wait until the CD comes out this fall!
******* amazing Josiah Leming, you wrote another winner. I wrote out the lyrics if anyone wants to sing along. Take me to the church where my father and my mother pray for me and my dear brother while the angels undercover cursed our names children do you believe in heaven; tell me do you believe in heaven cause there’s a place that’s filled with flames and it’s calling out your name so you best believe in heaven with your blind absent face take me to the park where we played when light went dark and even Jesus didn’t matter cause our souls were filled with laughter and our laughter reached to heaven while our sorrows went to hell and take me to the fields where my father spent his days slaving for a beggars wage the day is over turn the page they’ll be another when you wait waiting in your cup of coffee and you hear another coffee as you whisper to her softly but we still hear every strain, we still hear ever strain; and take me to the house where my mother rests her bones, in that chair she rests her bones, quite the unsuspecting throne lock me out but don’t deny her what she owns cause I don’t believe in heaven, no I don’t believe in heaven there’s a place that’s filled with flames, and it’s calling out my name, cause I don’t believe in heaven lock me out but don’t deny her what she owns, lock me out but don’t deny her what she owns and take me to the church where my father and my mother prayed for me and my dear brother while the angels undercover cursed our names
