The thing is, Meyer is so unable to put her characters in any danger, she's made her vampires unbeatable. Human Bella, yeah, she's dead in minutes. But Mary Sue vampire Bella, what's a puny arrow going to do to her "marble" body? It's definitely not fair, but I don't think Meyer writes fair. Or well, in any account.
