John Carter on Mars - besides Burroughs - is a child of Frank Frazetta (look him up). I was sad to read on Wikipedia that Frazetta's art-style seemed 'dated' to the Pixar folks making the movie. But I still have faith they will make it above and beyond 'Avatar'.
