The "Last Airbender" director admits to being "old school" and very wary of using 3-D technology in his movie.
I do have to agree with Gabriel completely on everything he has said. I am not a director or anything of the sort, but I was highly disappointed when it came to the plot and action scenes. I waited for an entire year for this movie to come out and when I finally saw it, I honestly felt like I wasn't watching the right movie. Yes, the names were there and saw SOME of the bending, but in all, it was horrible. There are a few questions I wish to ask this guy and I am pretty sure a lot of people out there will agree with me... For one, Why did you change the way they pronounced the name? Two, why was the bending so boring, long, and over exaggerated ? Three, why did you skip out of so many important parts of the series? Four, and most important to me.. WHY IS APPA SO FRICKING UGLY?!?!
Alright, If you are a very familiar with the series "Avatar The Last Air Bender" be prepared to be disappointed. The movie lacked of a good story line that followed what Aing's true purpose is in book one, to find out who he is and master water bending. The actors didn't connect due to the poor casting (The only ones that truly fit there character was: Aing, Kitara, and the princess). Besides the casting, the camera work was just all over the place, we could have had a better cinematic view, all we saw was Rac focus, wide shots, and close-ups, Big whoop! The script in which the movie was shot around was just horrible! Hardly any dialogue and when they did speak it wouldn't click in your head if you hadn't seen the series. The special affects where great but seemed very, very, slow. One of the reason why people love this show is because of the action that is delivered through the bending, this film made it seem like time was slowed down when it needed to be faster with more action. I give this movie a 4 out of 10.
