From set visits to the L.A. premiere, the stars of 'Twilight' share their thoughts on the movie, the story and a fanbase they never saw coming. (11.20.08)
I found it really odd that right before the movie showed i was reading the book. My best friend, over summer break, introduced me to a series called twilight. he said "have you ever heard of Twilight?" and i was like "No," then se was all "well its a about vampires" and then i asked "oh, is it scary," and she just shook her head and told me that it was a love story. I had never read a love story and when i saw the book i reconized it. Every time i went to the book store i would always stop and look at those books not knowing what they were and that they would soon become my fav books in the entire world. So i decided to give it a try. I ended up reading the book in a week. I had never read that fast in my life, tho it was a huge book. I decided very soon that i was going to finish what i started. So i picked up the book new moon and right when i was about to finish it, now back in school, everyone in my school was reading twilight, new moon, eclipse, and breaking dawn. The movie came out and me and a group went to go see it. I finished New moon and then eclipse. Now i am rereading new moon for the movie I cant wait. I love Twilight more than anything. LOVE LOVE LOVE it. call me obsessed, but i am proud to say I AM
I never heard of the books until I went and seen the movie. Weird thing is I seen the advertisements on the television for this (I am NOT a person that goes to the movies) anyway thought that looks good. I went their and was kind of shocked I was the ONLY person in the cinema watching it LOL. With all the hype and promotion after I did research on it shocked me big time! How weird is that ? I have seen this movie 4 times now as I said I am NOT a person that goes to the cinemas. Read all 4 books and addicted.
If you like twilight go to ebtwilight.com to see some really cool info about twilight.
Wow. All I can say is wow. It seems only yesterday I was reading the announcements for who was getting casted, then freaking out over set shots taken by fans who snuck in, and now here we are. Twilight was a big success and now the sequal is in pre-production. It definitely is surreal and as weird as it sounds, has become a huge part of my life. Can't wait for mtv.com to cover the sequal! -covenofeternaltwilight.com
Krysanne. wow you took the words directly out of my head. I am twenty seven and I had the exact same feeling and opinions. Everything right on the head. I wonder if it has anything to do with our age and similar maturity levels do to our age.hm? interesting to think about.
WOW! That is awesome for all of them!
I was hoping for more from the movie but was pleased with what it ended up being. Being an avid reader I was aware no matter how I went into it I would be slightly disappointed b/c I knew they would have to cut some of the scenes in the book. Kristin stewart did a very good job as bella. She seems to naturally have the mantality as bella. I would be suprised if Kristen said she couldnt relate to bella in some way. Now Robert Pattison, hhmmm, first of all I think he is extremly hansom and fufills my view of Edward visually. As far as Roberts acting goes he is still very fresh to acting and this by far was his biggest and most demanding role. There where some parts were I felt they where a bit over acted and while I believe Robert has some responsibility to that I also think the director failed him in this way. I believe it is up to the director to be an actors eyes and critic and I feel that she wasnt giving Robert the best opprotunity to prefectly suceed. On a better note I would be severly disappointed to see any other actor play Edwards parts in any following movies (Which I hope is all the books) Robert has so much potential as an actor and I hope those considering him for hire can see that. He blew me away with the first kiss in the movie, his passion was so raw and severe it had me melting in the seat with my husband right next to me, I would think that Kristen Stewart would literally pass out from such intense passion, she must be a stronger person than me, haha. Further more I was very impressed with Roberts musical abilities. I thought he looked so beautiful playing the piano. I will cross my fingers and hope to watch Robert Pattison grow not only in the twlight saga but in other films. Other directors would be silly not to cast him, ya know with the millions of teenage girls already eating out of his hand and making a 24 year old like me melt in my seat. I wish him all the luck. Am excited to see how new moon turns out given I would assume a larger budget is in mind with the current success.
As much as it pains me to say this, "Twilight was a big disappointment." The movie was too low-budget looking, the whole thing felt rushed, and the story was so underdeveloped that the love between Edward and Bella is not believable :( One of my favorite chapters- Blood Typing was not even in the movie!! All the scenes with Edward and Bella talking, getting to know each other, and falling in love aren’t even in it!! Instead you have a bunch of unnecessary scenes that don't even happen in the book. I'm happy with the cast and I think they did an ok job. Some of the acting was comical at times and some characters were not really used. I just hope they do a better job with New Moon. My fingers are crossed that they replace the screenwriter and director for the next movie. If movies like Titanic and Romeo and Juliet can be brought to life, in film the correct way, - so too can Twilight/New Moon.
The Movie was great. I loved it. Being a fan of the books, I knew that it wasn't going to compare to the movie. I knew that and then the low budget it had, I knew that starting off. I enjoyed it very much, it was funny and there were some "Key Scenes" that were not in the movie, but overall the essense was there. Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart understood their characters and it is seen through their interactions. Yes, the special effects were not the best, but that goes back to having a low budget. I believe in movies to come they will get better. They better for the second adaptation, New Moon. There will be more special effects needed having it introduce the werewolves. With the fan base behind it the Twilight francise is starting to dominate.
Bean, You obviously arent a true fan. The movie was AWESOME you cant expect everything that was in the book in the movie and they did have alot of the book in the movie. They didnt ruin the book at all so seriously dont get your panties in a bunch. The actors were amazing. They did nothing wrong, and Edward's skin was supposed to look like that. Like diamonds on his skin, which it did. Kristen did that with her eyes because it was supposed to be like she was dazzled or fainting, which it did. Clearly you are extremly judgemental. Cant you just be happy. Oh. And sorry to let you down, but they've already confirmed New Moon :] so hah.
In my opinion it blew big time on a scale of 1-10 i give it a 2 if that it was so freaking bad... I just watched it a few hours ago and everyone loved it...i don't see how if they read the book. It was such a big let down most of the movie wasn't even in the book and half of the book just got left out. oh and what was up with the special effect with edwards skin? it was so nasty he looked like he went and stuck his face in sand..it wasn't supposed to look like that at all. Bella's acting sucked she kept doing this thing with her eyes..it was really annoying edward was butt ugly (you all know he is quit lying to yourself) all of the actors did a horrible job and didn't fit the story at all . This is defiantly a book they can not make a movie out of, there is just no way to do it without ruining it... I hope they do not make new moon a movie to..they already ruined twilight enough
yay!
