October 14th I will be in a theater somewhere watching this!!!!
I think that people that make stupid comments about a movie they haven't seen will eat their words when they do see it. Everyone that is coming out of early screenings have nothing but praise for this movie, have not heard one bad comment from anybody that has actually seen the movie.
Marcella, I am a 61 yr old grandmother who also loved the original, but this movie was made for this generation. Kenny Wormald is much better looking than Kevin Bacon ( Kevin has never been that cute IMO) Lori Singer can't hold a candle to Julianne in the looks dept. or dancing and Miles Teller is a wonderful Willard. Read somewhere that Chris Penn was high for the entire shooting of the original. Please keep an open mind until you have seen this movie, then if you don't like it, fine. People should not comment on a movie they have not even seen yet.

I know a lot of u r from the "old school" n can't accept even a little change. Go see the remake first....its better than the original, better looking male/female leads (saw an early screening).

looks like it will b an ok movie...but really not conviced that white kids dance like that???? The original Footloose is still the best!!
BIG HUGE SIIIIIIIIIIGGGGGGH....stop rebooting what was and is already perfect. In no way shape or form is the new guy cuter than Kevin Bacon. That's just inconceivable!!! Nobody can play Willard like Chris Penn (God rest his soul). The dancing in the original was much more tasteful. In this one, I can already see that it's the usual bumping and grinding, and dancing like they're having sex with their clothes on. Come on...do I want my pre-teen daughter to see that?!?! I'm 32 yrs old and I saw the original as a little kid and I loved it. In my late teens I watched it again and again and again because I was so (as corny as it may sound) inspired by it....and I loved the dancing!! When I saw the trailer, I instantly felt disappointed. All the reboots have been flops....well, except the Batman movies by Christopher Nolan cause those are freakin AWESOME!! But this one....huuuuurrrrrl. And to add insult to injury, a reboot of Dirty Dancing is in the works....WHHHHHHAAAAAAT!!!! Quit while you're ahead Hollywood, quit while you're ahead.
I think you should wait until you see the movie to pan it. As far as the actors go Julianne Hough could beat Lori Singer at anything she tries. And Kenny is much better looking than Kevin Bacon ever was. This trailer in no way looks bubblegum. You are just closed minded and probably nobody change your mind so don't go see it, your loss.
remember the dancing is only approx 35% of the whole movie. Heard from people that saw a premier loved it. that the sound mixing during the dance scenes was extra fantastic. Craig Brewer's Footloose is surprising people in screenings all over the place because its clear that someone actually put some thought n effort into it; that its one of the best remakes in recent years. All i've been hearing are great reviews. The Coen Bros did a remake on 'True Grit' n it was one of the best pictures of last year.

I can't believe they are remaking Footloose. The actors in the original movie are so much better. Kevin Bacon is brilliant, as well as Lori Singer, John Lithgow, Chris Penn..... This remake looks bubblegum. (I do love Dennis Quaid though!) I think we should all boycott the remake. Let's NOT see it. What do you all think?

Read some of the reviews on twitter by people that saw the movie last night, they loved it! Said it was amazing, several said it was better than the original. This movie will be a BLOCKBUSTER!!!
