Rod has been lying about his identity and wants to know if Ebony is hiding anything as well. Episode airs Monday at 11/10c.

100% agreed. Disappointed is a good word. Nev and Max, please don't undermine the credibility of your own personas as diplomatic, respectable guys by laughing and making ignorant comments on air about transgender people, and about sexual orientation. You have an audience who, for the most part, is not as mature as you are, and may look to you as a source of information or cues about how to perceive and regard these populations. A little education goes a long way; look into it.
i liked that episode she is a beautiful woman who has alot going on for her
***,thatz real offensive to call transgenders by waht were they born. like *** who r u to judge. its not cool,he needs to learn about transgenders more n get corrected i didnt kno he could b soo judgemental
Man, there's been a few episodes with transgender people so far and Nev keeps calling them by their biological un-identity. Wonder how many e-mails he has received correcting him and his gender pronoun use.
Curiosity doesn't necessarily incriminate someone. I mean, sexuality is fluid to begin with...all the time, you hear about gay guys and lesbians who didn't even "realize" that they were gay until later on in life (I'm not talking about those who know and are closeted; I'm talking about those who literally do NOT realize it), and up until then dated people of the opposite sex. On the other end of the spectrum, there are straight people who venture off in a different direction and ultimately conclude that they're straight. The biggest mistake you can make when it comes to sexuality is to assume things are static and unchanging, that sexual "orientations" are laws unto themselves and aren't just words created to describe tendencies.
couldn't agree more! nearly everything they said about ebony from the start - like calling her a "guy-girl" - was offensive to both rod and ebony. they should've gone through some sensitivity training before agreeing to get so involved in people's romantic lives. my guess is they'll get serious backlash for this, and it'll bring them back to the 21st century.
I think you just have to be understanding to ppl situation and know where they are coming from!! :)
The fact still remains that he did go into a gay/lesbian chat room. One doesn't typically go looking for a straight individual in a gay/lesbian chatroom. And my guess is he didn't go in there looking to turn a lesbian straight either. We don't know who messaged who first, but I can understand why someone might think his sexuality is questionable even before you touch the fact that he is interested in a transgender female. Perhaps they don't use all of the correct terms. But the show is pretty amateurish. They are sharing their personal thoughts about the situation with each other. Those that know better, know better and those who do not already don't. They aren't being "misinformed" by Nev and Matt. They are already "misinformed". My personal opinion of course.
Straight guys can get with transgender girls, and it doesn't make them gay in the slightest. Do you know why? Because trans women are still women. Nev and Matt should educate themselves about the difference between gender identity and sexuality before they say things like "she's really a dude" or "he's changing his sexuality". I'm deeply disappointed that this is still the public opinion on trans people in 2013.
@Maeva: Sarah was talking about Nev and Matt questioning the authenticity of Rod telling them he wasn't interested in men. They saw that Ebony was transgendered (aka, born male but feels female and probably has had some kind of hormone therapy) and assumed it meant that Rod liked manly-male-men, period, which isn't necessarily true.
Hmm...debatable. If the person on the other line considered themselves male, dressed like a male, behaved in a "male" way, he wouldn't be attracted; on the other hand, Ebony may have been born a biological male, but clearly presents as female. It also seems like Ebony's had some hormone therapy, too, so you really can't say she's a dude. There's a huge difference between being attracted to a completely male person and being attracted to someone like this.
Hey Nev and Matt, it'd be nice to see you get a little more informed on the relationship between gender and sexuality! You did so well with Kya and Dani, I'm sooo disappointed to see your general lack of PC-ness on this clip. Do yourselves a favor and get better informed. By speaking about LGBT in a misinformed way, all you are doing is reinforcing negative stereotypes surrounding that community. And I'm really disappointed to see this, considering one of the main premises of your show is breaking down barriers and boundaries. You can do better.
Get out of here, who is he trying to fool? He is as gay as they come... Stop it, just stop it...
