Nev explains how and why he still keeps in touch with Angela, the woman who was posing as his online girlfriend in his documentary film "Catfish."
Are Nev and Max trained in mental healthcare? If not, does the show have qualified professionals advising or consulting for the complex issues found in the stories? I loved the film, now can't wait for each next episode. There's so much exceptional clinical psych implications in these human relations that could teach so much on human psychology today. What a phenomenal venue for teaching. What about Catfish, the book? the college coursework? the clinical psych studies program? There's such phenomenal potential. Is this mostly a young generation occurence, or are older and senior adults also experiencing this online attachments? I mean months, years of connectedness, what does this reveal about people's needs and lack of fulfillment? about human need for anonymity and masking themselves? So much we can learn from the catfish phenomena. A perfect show for the MTV audience..
