I don't think the previous alpha is actually dead, I think HE is the Kanima .. either him or Lydia .
Just the fact that everyone suspects that Lydia or Jackson maybe the Kanima, means that they are not it. I mean look at last season, everyone thought the Alpha was the creepy teacher, or the vet that knows a lot more than he's supposed to, when it really turned out to be Peter Hale the coma tose uncle.

Very interesting!! How did Allison's grandfather learn that Scott was a werewolf? IS Lydia the Kanima? It actually would make utterly perfect sense if she was because in the beginning of the episode, her mother comes in and find her bed spread all bloody and her mirror broken. I cannot wait for the next episode!
Has anyone else noticed Colton's pronoun slip about the kanima's identity, though? He identified it as "he" twice. Not she. And they're practically shoving the Lydia theory down our throats, so I seriously doubt it's actually her.
I love that they cut Tyler's comment about no Derek/Stiles love connection... I think Jeff Davis is seriously considering going there in season 3! He seems really interested in the fans reaction to it. :)
