On the next episode, Sam vows to stand up against Zach and Ashley's viewpoints.
People need to take the time and accept us for who we are just because we choose to live alternative lifestyles does not mean we need to be treated differently.
you go sam
I understand your point and it is very well thought out and thank you for not making an ignorant comment. And keep in mind the gay friends that I have are not my best friends so I don't think I would be invited to the wedding anyways haha. I play soccer with them. I understand that but it's how I was raised I can't really help that and my beliefs and in my heart tell me it's not right so I couldn't support my friend if in fact I did go to their wedding. It's not that I don't wish them a great life but it's not something I agree with. And I think that's great that you feel that way about your boyfriend cause not even many straight people feel that way nowadays, marriage has become somewhat of a sham so I actually do wish you a nice life but I believe what I believe, not all friends agree with each others lifestyles whether it be gay marriage, schooling, drugs, job choices, etc. (I know these are minimal compared to marriage but their huge parts of some of my friends lifestyles that I don't agree with).
Joshua, like I said to LCfan, I'm only taking the time to comment, because you are clearly a good, reasonable guy who is just asking for some common sense. But when you write, "I'm also tired of seeing homosexuality shoved down people's throats and if someone doesn't agree with that lifestyle, they are automatically called close-minded," you are forgetting that people are constantly seeing heterosexuality shoved down their throats and if someone doesn't agree with that lifestyle (heterosexuality), they are automatically accused of shoving their gay lifestyle down people's throats. Since you are clearly smart and a good person, I just wanted to ask you to understand how this sort of stuff beats down on anyone who is a minority day after day. Straight people don't think about their lifestyle everyday, the way white people don't think about their race everyday. But gay people and black peopledo think of it everyday, because we are always reminded. Jesus is good for saying to love everybody. Thanks for writing that beautiful message here. He also stressed compassion and was very against people judging others.
LCfan, you definitely make some good points. You seem smart and open-minded. I would not want to attend a church if the day's topic was how homosexuality was wrong. I never thought of it that way. As a gay guy, I have certainly respected my friends' religions and went to church for weddings, funerals, chorus performances, or even just to see what their Sunday service was like if they wanted me to. You say you have gay friends, but don't believe in gay marriage, though. And I can't help but think, as someone who has been with my boyfriend for 8 years and is getting married in the next few months because NY made it legal, that how can someone truly be my friend, but not want to celebrate that I have found a happy, loving relationship that I will honor in monogamy for the rest of my life? That's not a friend. That's a half friend. I hope you'll be as open-minded to my opinion.
He qualifies as gay with how love he is with himself. That girl did want to go until he didnt! Then she is like "they hate US" .. Wow I can see changing for someone in a positive sense, but wanting to be united to a person by hoping someone else hates you is just dumb. But she is a young dumb girl who will soon discover there are a million girls who are prettier, sexier and smarter. By the way BEING YOUR OWN WOMAN is sexy AS HELL!
Thank you! It's pathetic to hear him talk. He talks so much stuff I don't know how he thinks he has a right to judge someone else.
I couldn't have put it any better, LCfan... word for word, you speak the truth :) I don't get into the Real World because I'm not big into watching drama happen all the time, but I was interested in this season a bit because my co-worker is a very close friend of Sam's. But I come from the same background and perspective you do, and I'm also tired of seeing homosexuality shoved down people's throats and if someone doesn't agree with that lifestyle, they are automatically called close-minded. I really don't care about the gay-marriage issue because heterosexuals have done a pretty fine job of destroying that institution all by themselves, but just because I don't think homosexuality is right doesn't mean I don't still like the person! Jesus says to love everybody! Why must everyone agree on everything and see everything the exact same way in order to get along? Look at history... that has never worked for Christianity... why do you think it will work for you?
aww poor sam :( i feel soo bad 4 her :( i wish i could give her a hug :)
He's not freaking close-minded because he doesn't believe in gay marriage or a gay lifestyle. People are entitled to their own opinions that doesn't make him close-minded, that's ignorant to say.
P.s. their is a difference between accepting something and being tolerant of something. I am tolerant of my friends being gay because they're my friends they respect my views as I do theirs but they don't ask me to go to gay pride events with them supporting something I don't believe in my heart is right.
Zach said something super stupid crossed the line, we get it. He apologized to Sam she forgave him so someone explain to me why Frank is still talking about it? Zach didn't say it to him he said it to Sam, that has nothing to do with Frank and it's none of his business. Frank is ignorant, idiotic and the most judgmental person in the house which is really funny because he says Ashley and Zach are being judgmental cause they won't go to a gay bar or a gay pride parade supporting gays?? WTH...I am conservative and a Christian and it is my personal beliefs that gay marriage is wrong but I have gay friends and am not a gay hater. As for Frank basically saying because they don't go to the parade they should just come out and say they hate gays is really hypocritical. Just because you don't believe in someone else's choices does not mean you hate who they are. Frank is the epitome of the pot calling the kettle black. Sam seems really cool but as for her she needs to back off on the gay thing to...I being anti-gay marriage cannot sit there and have someone ask me over and over and over again to support something I don't believe in. You know why? Because I don't believe in it! Plain and simple. Your saying if I asked you to go to my Christian church where the topic was on homosexuality and how it's wrong as clearly stated in the Bible you're saying you would get up early and put on your Sunday best to go? be real.
Zach is scared that he might have some gay in him. He pretty much said that on the phone with his friend. Sure, he was joking about having long hair, waxed eyebrows, etc. But let's face it. The most homophobic guys suspect that if they are open to gay people they'll end up exposing a part of themselves that is gay. That's why Nate was able to go to a gay (and meet a woman), because, unlike Zach, he is confident that he is straight.
A G R E E D. ashley wants that **** is all
Right or wrong, Zach has the "right" to his feelings. Just as gays feel they have their rights, so do straights. Ashley has her rights also, gays like to put their lifestyles in everyone's face to prove whatever to whomever and dare anyone to disagree or express their own feelings.
I WANT TO MARRY YOU SAM. I've never liked Zack either, he might be the hottest but he's also the dumbest and has the ugliest personality of all.
i never liked zach. i dont really think ashley is close-minded, i think she's going along with whatever zach says because she's on his d**k. i can't wait for tonight's episode though. go Sam!!!!!
sam is awesome :)
looks good i wanna see this tonight!(: you go Sam!
(@ MrsDavila) It's in the "in the next Real World clip" at the end of Episode 4. Zach and Nate were playing ping pong. I guess Sam was messing with them... and Zach said to Sam, "I will beat the gay out of you, if you throw these paddles off the porch".
