Britney says she, Lady Gaga and "triple threat" Beyoncé were all influenced by Michael Jackson, before welcoming her to the stage.
i love when gaga is like, "everybody stand the **** up!"
I love u Britney! Ur the best :)
congrat britney spears im so proud of u my queeney
dude lady gaga is so frickin wesome and i love the way brit leaded her on. If i was Bi i would so date lady gaga as joe.
I just think they should have recognized the tenth anniversary of Aaliyah's death, it had only been four days before the show. Aaliyah was a legend who died so young at 22. Janet Jackson and all the legends pay respects to the talent Aaliyah was. Aaliyah's best friends Timbaland and Missy Elliott would have been glad to introduce her tribute. So would Janet Jackson, Ciara, Monica, Brandy, Genuwine, Rihanna, Beyonce, Drake, etc. Why didn't the have Missy Elliott anywhere at the show? She's the one original true to heart wacky styled performer (so was Lisa Left Eye Lopez from TLC who died also nearly ten years ago and got no VMA recognition, I mean really?)!!
I gotta say that was a slap in the face to Brit....they spoke more about Beyonce than Britney...messed up...
Congrats Britney. MJ will live on forever.
go go go go go britney .... oh hells yeah! .. the best ever (justin timberlake)
I'm ****** that MTV made Brit introduce Beyonce at her acceptance speach for the MJ Vanguard award! She spent her whole time up there avoiding Gaga in a coyish mannner, a sentance accepting the award, and then the rest introducing Beyonce who got a huge hype from the audience. The performance for Brit was cute but not near as monumental or "big" as they've done for other artists or other award shows have done for other artists. I do assume it's a meek way of apologizing for how they treated Brit at the VMAs a few years back when she wasn't ready to perform, but even though someone falls they still deserve the proper recognition for the impact they've had in music over the last decade+! Maybe the next time she is honored they choose to do something more memoriable.
britney spears deserves the award enough saud.
Britney Spears deserved so much more then only 4 minutes, It was more like a presentation for Beyonce, I love Britney, even though shes done some wacked out stuff, but still..everyone elses seems to be a blow out, why not hers? It did seem like a last minute thing and that wasn't fair to her!
The fact is Music as an expression of art is falling like a rock tumbles down a landslide and this is what it's come to. Awarding someone who has contributed little to nothing at all by someone who has nothing else to contribute.
Thank you MTV for reinstating Michael Jackson's name to the Vanguard Award as it should be. You yourselves said "MTV was only 7 years old in 1988, but Michael Jackson had already established himself as the definitive artist of the video era." and this still holds true. You also said that his "groundbreaking work as a video artist even led to the award being renamed the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award", it is only right & fitting that it remain as such for not only his groundbreaking contribution to the medium but for the massive influence he has had on most artists today, acknowledged on your latest show by your latest recipient, Britney Spears. So once again, thank you for hearing so many and recognizing it was the right thing to do.
More commercial from the greediest network on television!
wht the hell whts up w gaga! she freakin ****** me off looks lik a total druggy who really anoyed me tht nght

Why in the world would they make Britney present Beyonce??? Killed her moment, and Gaga i love her, but she was getting on my nerves. Love you Britney, Congrats :)
Iam sooooo glad they reinstated the MJ Vanguard award, he is deserving of every thing! MJ was on of a kind and we all fought for this, thanks!!!
