English alt-rock band Coldplay performs a stripped-down version of their ode, "A Message," live in London at the "Hope For Haiti Now" telethon.
This is my best of the night of the telethon however taking nothing away from other performers. It's just that this is the first time I hear this group. I guess I'm very late in catching up to the music and the bands of today.
hello! guys you need to listen to this song and stop all these no senses. also help haiti people
you people are all suckers!
I'm not fom Haiti but I am from Puerto Rico living in US. That day when I heard of the earthquake I was in shock...the first thing that came to my mind wast "this could be Puerto Rico and that people could be my family" Reading the news I found out that the earthquake was so big that was felt in some areas of Puerto Rico but not at the same degree that Haiti.. I thank God for that but Haiti been one of our neighbor islands my prayers are with them...hoping that they will overcome this...So after reading some of the comments here I have to say that some people don't want to understand that one of the reason that is moving people around the world to help Haiti is because this country is one of the poorest country in the world even before the earthquake. If US wants to open the doors to these people so they can work and help their families...What's wrong with that? For years I have noticed that these people that come from other countries are hardworkers and they just want to be able to work to help their families. They don't come here to take nothing from nobody because most of the times they accept jobs that anybody else will not accept because don't pay good enough or is not a job in an office. It's amazing how almost everybody wants to give something to Haiti putting aside their needs,,,(because I know that everybody have their own needs)...that says a lot of us...Haiti needs us now and we are there for them....God bless Haiti and God bless us all...
God is great and he will never abandon his children helplessly.Haiti may the Lord grant as many lifes lost peace in his kingdom amen.
God is doing such wonderful acts of love for Haiti. It is wonderful to see all the love that has come together because of such a tragic event. It really puts things in prospective... :)
im positive that Haiti will overcome this with our help, here in Mexico we are doing our best to collect as much money and supplies as possiible to help people in Haiti, it is so sad that kids and all people in general in Haiti are going through this, but they are not alone, poeple all over the world are trying to help. God bless them!
I just cant believe now in these days, there still so much hating in this country, you guys dont understand that the reason everybody in the world look up a this country is because of its greatness throughout all the history in time, and u still be hating because of color, social status, political parties, etc. u dont know how much gratefull u should be for has been born in this country where u choose to be poor, because whether u have it or not government help u, In all third world countries people dont choose to be poor they r born poor they dont have any other choice theres no schools theres no food, here because people rather go an collect unemployment rather than work for minimum wage, they rather be homeless because of addictions this is the country with the most addicted people in the world and u still complaint of helping third world countries, PLEEEEASE just wake up and stop hating.......thats not their fault if that happens toyou and your family people will feel sorry for you.....open up your minds and your hearts....if theres no love in your hearts just dont spread hating........PEOPLE WERE STARVING OVER THERE BEFORE THE EARTHQUEAKE.....this is just a wake up call to the world for this country......GOD BLESS THEM AND ALL OF THOSE LITTLE ORPHAN KIDS THAT the good people in the world and UNITED STATES OF AMERICA HELP THEM....AND I know they will get up and be a better country than they were before.......
Seems like idiot Marcus removed his stupid comments from all the pages he posted on... but if anyone is interested in a little info on why Haiti is so poor... read this: http://www.thenation.com/blogs/notion/517494/
i understand where you are coming from, but as much as you feel we as americans have problems of our own, it is still a moral obligation felt to help those in need regardless of race, or orgin. If you were in need and I could help you, I would help and that is what Americans are doing now. We are the richest country on the planet and helping others may not always seem to work out in our favor, but it does in the long run. Although there are many issues to handle at "home", we still have it better than the rest. As a black woman, it hurts my heart to see those people suffer. As a mother, it saddens me to see friends of mine who have lost their children and as an American it crushes me to almost see an entire province destroyed. We are no different and i believe the saying goes, "do unto others and you would have them do unto you." That is what we as americans are doing now. It was not war or malice that caused this unfortunate tragedy, but nature. We are all just a situation away from nothing and in our time of need, we would expect help. we have the best medicines, doctors, water, etc. I don't understand how you or the marcus person i read about can harbor such feelings in your hearts, because if a tragedy hits your home town or your family (God Forbid), you will be screaming for the same help you are rebelling against providing. God Bless you and I hope you and marcus and each close minded, insensitive person that has that same way of thinking make change where it is needed, wisen up and treat people like you want to be treated. your lawyer, doctor and other mentioned friends are only a situation away from needing help yourself. that is a harsh reality. peace and love
AND MARCUS AMERICA IS THE WORLD POLICE YOU WASTE YOU TIME ONLINE TALK ABOUT YOU COUNTRY BUT YOU DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT YOUR COUNTRY STAND FOR IN THE WORLD. ALL THAT TIME YOU WASTE WRITING THIS BLOG YOU COULD HAVE HELP AN OLD LADY CROSS THE STREET BUT YOU DIDN'T.
hope for haiti
I have to agree with Marcus, and when I was talking with my mom about this the other night, she brought up a very good point--would we care if it were some other country...think about this before you answer, because how much help did we give Italy during their earthquake? Answer: very little, if any, and they are still struggling to re-build in some sections. And how much help did the Midwest get when it flooded a year or so ago (let alone the great floods of '93)--those people are in our own country and many of them didn't get a dime of help because even the insurance companies failed to pay out! Some of the people lost their homes, they can't rebuild on the land, they can't sell it because of the flood issues, and farms were decimated. If you think that is trivial, go down to New Orleans and see how effective we were at trying to fix that mess. I hate to be insensitive, but for the most part, I don't think many people would care about Haiti except for the fact that the US sends a ton of missionaries over there, so we have too many of our own people in that location to ignore it. As for the orphanages, it is sad, but we have children here who need homes, and we should start taking care of ourselves first instead of playing mommy to everyone else. If these celebrities really give a crap, send them to Haiti and let them fix the problem without the average American people's money--they have enough of their own to fix it, so why are they asking the rest of us. I just can't wait to see what will happen next--will we open up our borders to let Haitians in because they are "refugees" due to the environment? Fantastic...I swear there are times I wish I lived in Canada, because until our government officials get a brain, we will keep putting ourselves at a disadvantage to help out everyone else, even though the rest of the world could give a crap less about what happens to us when we get environmental disasters. It honestly is a very bitter subject with many people I know, because no matter how much we all feel sympathy for these people, there are too many problems our own communities are facing to be able to really focus on a country that really has very little impact on our economy. I am not your average Joe down the street, and neither are my friends: we are attorneys, graduate students, government emloyees, and various professionals who have come to realize that more than half of us are unemployed because our own economy is badly damaged and some of us and our other friends and family are facing the possiblity of losing everything we have worked for. Most of us aren't able to pay our mortgages, student loans, afford health care, get a decent paying job, or even afford food sometimes. Half of us have parents in the same situation right now, so there is no help for us. Just think about this and really ask yourselves how we can realistically send money to support Haiti. If you think that really isn't important, how about this: Ask a soldier how much he makes to fight for freedom for someone else's country, and then think about what we could do better with the money people expect us to send to Haiti. Personally, I would rather donate my money to the local veteran's center, and my local food pantry, or even the local animal shelter than send a dime overseas.
