Ah, you simply HAVE to enjoy trolls like "Honest, Not Cheap". Judging by his profile, I gather he is someone that had a falling out with the gang at CH and decided to exploit their supposed fallacies. Or perhaps this person had an idea that failed or he/she never followed through on and now anyone that has tasted success is a poser. I see this stuff all the time. I've met a lot of the guys and gals that work at CH and know some of them personally. They're just normal guys trying to make it in a dog-eat-dog world. They are down-to-earth and actually really cool to hang out and work with. I applaud the CH crew for starting off with such humble beginnings and staying in the game. You see, having an idea is only a small part of the formula for success. You need to have execution and staying power too, and that's where people tend to fail. Besides, let's be honest here: there are no more original ideas. Everyone falls under some sort of categorization and we're all similar in some ways. Everything has been done or thought up already but some things stick and become more mainstream while others remain in obscurity. Demz da breakz. I can admit some of the CH material is corny but it's meant to be tongue-in-cheek type humor and, if you can get past your own elitist snobbery and caustic cynicism, you may very well enjoy it. They make no pretense about it all. College humor assumes references to pop culture, drinking, hot girls, frat-boy antics, and the like. What part of that did you not get? Disgruntled much? In any case, no point arguing with people like that. They're usually close-minded, stuck-up idiots. I call it the fallacy of intelligence; you are smart but apply your intelligence in all the wrong manners, ultimately being ignorant. I wouldn't be surprise if HNC is projecting about his own hypocrisy and shortcomings. One last tidbit: I fail to see how "contrived" can be a major put-down. Planning things out is not a bad thing. Sure, there is a negative connotation there but this is sketch comedy, not stand-up, and, thus, it is not as raw or adlibbed. Drink more Haterade, plz. [o=
Van Veen makes an awesome *******.
I ruined a feeble attempt at seeming smart by making a typo? Ricky is a prime example of someone with such a hackneyed-trend-following exterior, that it is obvious no depth can be found within...his segment here is the proof. Using the irony of saying "****" and actually meaning it literally...shockingly original, sharp-witted, knee-slapping humor - if you are a frat boy who calls Blink 182 "Blink" while looking to monitor the shock on everyone's faces at the family reunion in response to your admission that you listen to "punk rock" music.
Regarding the first post. "its says so much about you." In that one sentence you ruined your feeble attempt to seem smart. Good game.
thanks for the advice, ricky.
First of all, this isn't funny...at all. Its contrived, derivative, and dead in the water. Was it you that decided to turn the camera onto yourself? Why? What did you think would appeal to anyone? The same for the collegehumor show, keep the cameras off the staff...there's no charm, no appeal, no humor, no original wit. Have you written a thank you letter to Ricky Gervais? I hope you followed it up with an apology letter too...Also, on just the superficial level (a level you apparently understand "deeply"), you, Ricky, are not charming in anyway, especially with your helmet-headed pseudo-retro hairdo - its says so much about you. Wow.
