mermaid1, please shut up. No one wants to hear your "preaching" about not eating meat. Why do you think vegans and many religions have a bad reputation? It's because people like you condemn everyone who doesn't do what they think they should. You say animals eat meat because of the food chain, well that's a reason why I'm currently eating chicken. I eat what I want. Vegans are actually at risk for many health issues that meat eaters do not have to worry about, like birth defects. You're saying you don't judge but you are judging. Please think before you speak. Now, I'm going to go back to eating my chicken breast sandwich. It doesn't bother me at all that the chicken I'm eating came from a chicken farm. You give non-meat eaters a BAD rap.

I mean neither of them are vegetarians or vegans for that matter. Come on, bloodroot toothpaste, sorry-- toothpowder? Pinetar shampoo? And you're still consuming animals with brains, central nervous systems, hearts, and feelings (i.e. feeling of "fight or flight")? It doesn't add up, to me.

Non renewable resources are "really really disturbing", Ginny, yes - and I'd love to do what you're doing for maybe 2 months but it's surprising that neither of these planet, environment, nature aware people eat meat. Sure, animals eat meat in the wild; there's a food chain, but humans have intellect that allows them to rise above eating other living creatures - and the ability to create food (satan, tempeh, tofu, soy not to mention beans, legumes, greens and fungii that contain PROTEIN - a lot of times more than meat has. COME ON PEOPLE. I admire them greatly but it's sickening to see all of the murder that's going on. However, I don't judge. You can't force people and people hate to be lectured --- I did when I ate (delicious) meat.

OK, but they're murdering living creatures. That negates all of this crap. NEGATES IT. These "concious" and striving for enlightenment people need to realize that not eating meat is the VERY FIRST STEP in being a decent human being.

The school they are at is 4 miles from my summer home, after 26 years of driving by Teaching Drum constantly, I never bothered to find what they taught! No matter how "crazy" they are, I hope they enjoyed living in the most beautiful place on earth. Despite the rain and the cold...Yeah Ginny, I've slept outside there in the early spring. I know how you can't feel your feet. It is really frickin cold. And it rains alot until about July. They're lucky they didn't get snowed on, unless they just didn't show that. I hope she's enjoying winter right now :)
