After a fair amount of chastity bashing by 2008 MTV VMA host Russell Brand, the 'American Idol' winner comes the defense of those who wait.
Not only that she's a contest winner, and not a real life celebrity who worked for years to get where they are and not get on stage that was handed to her on a silver platter, she doesn't know hat its like on the other side so don't judge. stay out the spot light because you don't have any stains and your ignorance will show up. Go to christian music and preach don't shove your purity crap down the throats of those you don't care about! You big ass truck!
no she's just being mean... i'm a mother of two i got them by having sex and don't regret it. plus, most of the jo bro's are grown. Maybe they should switch to christian music because even old school music is about sex! If you can't handle the heat get the freak out the kitchen!!! and can't be too pure showing your boobs on national television anyway. why is this an issue? all comics in America talk and jest about sex... i don't get it! it's the Janet Jackson boob all over again! Who cares?!!! Freaking VIRGINS!
You mean jordin no neck cankles! lol
@RonnieLG: She definitely implied it when she said "it's not bad to wear a promise ring, because not everyone... wants to be a slut." That is an implication that those who do not wear promise rings are sluts, which aside from being downright fallacious, is, in my opinion, just as offensive as you claim Brand's comments about the Jonas brothers were. And at least *his* comments were said in jest and legitimately used for comic effect the way the JB are a-typical by staying virgins yet living and working in the highly sexualised music industry. Hers on the other hand were not humorous and were just insulting and aimed at a great deal more people than Brand's comments.
First of all, who is she to get on stage and cope an attitude about something that had nothing to do with her Second of all, if see wanted to address the promise ring situation, she could have went about it in a different way, instead of implying that anyone who didn't wear a promise ring is a slut
WTF she needs to think about what she says on national tv. not everyone who doesnt wear a promise ring is a slut.
Hell yeah! Go Jordin! Defending JB of not that was awsome!
ok. for starters, she never once said that anyone who doesn't wear a purity ring is a slut! she was simply defending the jonas brothers who shouldn't have been under attack by russell anyway. who cares if they're waiting to have sex? he should've kept his mouth shut. it was a slam at them for their choices to stay pure, which is quite honorable if you ask me.
jordin sparks looks ausome!:)
ok ok blablabla where can i watch the whole vmas? any one well? by the jordin you are pretty asusal love your voice
ohh jeez, she should not have said that. lol she pretty much just insulted half, if not more, of America. i mean she could have worded it differently
all i can say is go jordin!!
Jordin is sooooo not saying that anybody that dosn't wear a promise ring is a slut........ shes saying its not bad to wear one duh!!!!!
Jordin is awesome. i loved her from the start of american idol! she rocks...:] i love her so effing much
I think Jordin needs to make a public apology to everyone who doesn't wear a friggin purity ring, because we're not all sluts as she called us. Thanks Jordin. You're a winner. WTF!
I am so Glad that she said that!! That takes guts!!!! and she is soo right!!!! They need to get off people with promise rings that is a good thing!!! gosh i sware!!!!! Just because most of the people in the music buissness have done drugs, been in rehab, and who know what else doesnt mean they need to pick on the good ones! Dont listen to them you all are amazing! Go Jordin! I love you Jonas Brothes!
i don't really appreciate her saying everyone that has pre marrital sex is being a slut ,i fully respect her opinion about it though i don't agree with her about waiting till marriage.so i feel like she had plenty of time to come of with a better more though out defense than that and i personally found it offensive because i don't consider myself a slut i love my boyfriend and hes the only one i've ever been with and if you care a bout someone alot i see nothing wrong with it
and theres a difference between being a slut ie "doing it with any random that comes around" and having sex with someone you care about before you're married! his joke was funny n people should stop being so PC about it!
Oh and also, I love how so many people believe that Russel's comment was ment to spark some intellectual debate on the utility of promise rings. It was a joke. All he said was that being the Jonas Brothers and deciding to be celebate was like having all of the powers of superman and taking the bus to work. If you need that decoded it means: The Jonas Brothers could sleep with any girl they wanted, but won't b/c of the promise ring which is like Superman, someone who can fly, taking the bus to work... Clear up any of the confusion. He was not making any comment on the promise ring as such, just the irony of them choosing to wear one.
How rediculous! It was funny enough that Jordin Sparks got upset about a flipping funny joke. What was more hilarious was that all of the people in the crowd ate it up. It was great though because you would have predicted that an american audience (i) would not get the comedic genious that is Russel Brand (the man is funny), and (ii) that only in america would people be so bothered about that joke. It was good though as he didn't even appologise for the comment, rather continued to take the piss out of the Jonas Brothers for the rest of the evening. How serious do you have to take yourself to be offended by that joke. Jordin really put her foot in her mouth for reacting like that. Just puts you off her all together... as if we really needed much help!
