ohh.. and i guess after readin some of the comments here.. THANK GOD BUSH IS DONE!!! I know I am Canadian and all.. and very proud of it as well.. but people in the US really need to think about what Bush has REALLY done for you.. think of all the people he made go to war... to a war he made!!! go look at the facts and what the war is on now... first it was because of the terriost er whatever.. ok.. i agree that that issue needed to be takin care of.. but in actually he send over a crazy amount of american troops and also made canada send troops as well!!! and how many people have been killed over there now that have NOTHING to do with it... all Bush did for you is kill your own people for his entertainment... thats certainly how I feel on him.. and way to be DIXIE CHICKS!!! I can't speak for all canadians but I know I can speak for most when I say thank you for being real and knowing when enough is enough!!

He went on and on about how he believed in Obama and wanted a black president - There is nothing wrong with that. There is something wrong with that when he says something like this to an interviewer- "RUSSELL: I think that the idea of democracy is an illusion and regardless of who becomes president, the status quo will maintain power. It's irrelevant who you select as the totem of power in the country, because the country will be run in the same way — but I would rather have a black president than a white one. I would have ideally liked a hermaphrodite president, if it was up to me entirely, but until a hermaphrodite stands, I'll support Obama." OHHJEEZ, people need to get over themselves. Everyone has the right to their own opinion- Russel Brand doesn't owe anyone an apology. He was JOKINGGG anyway, relax. Mtv didn't lose millions of viewers. No one cares that much. Stop being so freaking dramatic &, actually, if you were only here to see the Jonas Brothers and Miley Whoever, we don't need you around anyway. Bush is a douchebag [my opinion, get over it, that's the whole problem here] and if you want to have sex, go ahead. If not, go ahead. People need to stop taking everything so seriously and stop being racist & prejudice. Just because he's from the UK people jump all over him. Shiit, we're supposed to accept all types of people in this country and look at all the ******** not doing that.

American comedians talk about sex and politics all the time. It's their main source of material. If that had been Dane Cook up there most of you would have thought he was hysterical. I'm American and I think Russell Brand is brilliant. Get a life people and don't take it all so seriously.

Wow. Needless to say i am NEVER watching the VMA's again. This year i watched it mainly for the Jonas Brothers and Miley. Before all of you start saying if i wanted to watch them i shouldve just watched Disney or if im young enough to like them i shouldnt be watching MTV, thats not the point. Im 14, i think im mature enough to be watching MTV and my parents dont have a problem with it, and neither do most parents of people my age. I wanted to see their performances, and i also wanted to see what awards they won. But instead i have to listen to this ignorant guy disrespecting the jonas brothers because they respect themselves and God by staying virgins until marriage. I really hope MTV is ashamed, they need to apologize to the millions of people who had to watch this guy disrespect people. And the whole politics thing was just uncalled for. There is no room for politics on an AWARDS SHOW. He has NO right AT ALL to come here from the UK and tell us who to vote for. Obviously, im only 14, so i'll be honest, im not completely educated on politics, but i can pretty much almost guarantee that im a WHOLE lot more educated than him. At least the way he was talking would make me think so. Anyways congrats MTV on losing millions of viewers, i hope you are proud.

I am not trying to cut you down ms. bender, but you must admit there were a lot of spelling mistakes there. I don't feel that I attacked you, if you will read my statement again for reference. I only attacked your comments to me. Frankly I don't know anything about you other than the shreds of wisdom that you so willingly give to me. Also if I were you, I would consider not using my full name on the internet. And to "angry american," I changed my name (just for you *WINK*). But yes, I am American. I am proud to be American. But I am comfortable enough with my country and system of government to poke fun at the idiosyncracies within it.

One final comment before I sign off tonight. I think that MTV and Russell Brand owe American Citizens a public appology. Hopefully he has learned and all have learned when you are a guest in a country it is NEVER smart to make such hateful comments about it and it's citizens so publicly. He had better be thankful that it was here in the U.S.A that he decided to be so rude because in many other countries when you make comments like that you don't leave the way you came in. =(

That is a very rude comment, angryamerican. i cant believe that you would voice your opinion about mr. brand's jokes(of which you think are rude and uncalled for) and then make an even worse comment than the things brand has said all night about someone else's OPINION. it is people like you who make me angry kuz they cant come up with a polite to object to other people's thoughts and opinions. and by the way, the term isnt third world country, it is LDC(lesser developed country). that term had been gotten rid of and replaced

Sorry for the miss spellings. I too am human. I am allowed to make mistakes. There is no excuse for this individual to have made the comments that he made. As far as Bender I would like you to know had nothing to do with what you were stating as a matter of fact it is my last name. Thank you very much! (but thank you for trying to educate me!) Unfortunatly you are like many others and try to cut down on individuals that are standing up for their country and the freedoms that they have been given, instead of looking at the fact that this individual was just plain rude!!!! I did not voice my opinion on here to be cut down either. I am simply stating that this is inexcuseable behavior by MTV!
