To get rid of his lazy video-gaming lifestyle, Ryan wants to be made into a disciplined martial artist.
Its good to try new things. Maybe he will look like the new "Chris Farley", like from that karate movie
I so fell in love with Ryan. Does he have myspace?! D:
Aparently Rumshackle has no idea what the meaning of a martial artist is. Master Chan Lee was selected amongst many of wisconsin's Best Martial arts instructors to be the Made coach for Ryan. He runs five locations making his school the biggest in wisconsin. HMMMMM. he must be doing somthing right. Shortly after 9/11 he created an airsafe program training pilots and flight attendents how to subdue and disarm somone on an airplane.he has also worked with the marquette basketball team with tom crean in crosstraining using martial arts. Rumshackle says he is a martial artist right? well i have never heard of a martial artist bashing and disrespecting one of the nations most respected instructors. This defies the principle of being a martial artis (courtesy, integrity, perseverence, selfcontrol,) and respect!?? I bet you would be ashamed to let anyone know who your instructors are now. Im sure they would be very disappointed to see your post below. I also live in wisconsin i would love to spar you rumshackle
ninjas in tae kwon do? and karate kid being made by a tae kwon do instructor? wtf is this crap??? when did ninjitsu, karate and tkd merged with each other??? first the difference between tae kwon do and karate is tkd is 70% kicking and 30% punching and karate is more hands than foot. im sorry but this what you so called "master" chan lee doesnt seem like he knows the difference. he needs to do some research. its the first that i heard all this crap. i agree with aier down below.. seeing martial arts displayed this way is insulting to martial artists out there. ryan did an excellent job keep up the good work bro but stay away from all the stereo types that this guy is throwing at you. it seems like "master chan lee" is the one that needs to be made into a real instructor that knows what he is talking about... (ive been in tkd since the age of 5 trust me i have some knowledge). I suggest ryan going to a real martial art school.. this school seems like they would give you whatever you want in a short amount of time if you pay them.
this episode is sooo cool, but his uniform is a karate uniform and the person he is learning from is a twaekwon do master so its pretty interesting, i take martial arts too, i take kung fu, kempo, karate, tai chi, twaekwondo soo yeah, but im REALLY proud of him
wow. all this inspiration to get today's obese kids out there to do something cool and healthy and people still find something to ***** about.
The woman that spars him that one time is one of my tae kwon do masters!!!
First of all: pro's to the guy. He worked hard and accomplished his goal. However, the whole episode? Ninja's, grand masters, head bands, warrior spirit, confusing karate with tae kwon do... bullshido. And what's this with clean house=warrior house? That's the first time I heard that. Good guy but lousy episode. It saddens me to see martial arts displayed this way. To Ryan: keep doing martial arts but get away from the ninja stuff.

This episode disgusts me. Ryan the "Karate Kid" is in tae kwon do. Also, you can't be the slightest bit good at it in FIVE WEEKS! I was at the very competition ryan was at and it was 100% staged. They told his competitor to let ryan win and made everyone at the competition to pretend to be interested. Ryan sucks at tae kwon do. Sorry, but this whole episode isnt real. Stuff like this never happens. P.S. TKD schools don't "have" ninjas. They aren't even real. Beleive me, I have been in tae kwon do for 8 years. (which is slightly longer than five weeks)
lol i loved it when he said stiffness is the sign of death
My comments were...wiped. So I will type it again. This episode further pushes the stereo type that all Asians practice "Karate" or "Kung Fu". He is practicing Taekwondo, which is not karate. The karate kid was based no a Japanese style, and his teacher was Japanese. This is KOREAN not JAPANESE. Racial Stereotypes hooray.
Ryan...your adorable and really showed your heart in your episode. I hope you arent still with that girl cuz it didnt seem like she deserved a guy like u. Hit me back? Peace
Ahhhh, Ryan your are so amazing. I want you.
Excellent episode, it shows what martial arts is really about - focus, confidence, respect, self esteem and goals. MMA is entertaining but doesn't show the true nature of martial arts training. We need more shows like this inspire kids to spend less time on video games and more time pursuing worthwhile physical and character building activities.
Ryan are you going continuing to train? Are you going to get a black belt? Does your made coach always have ninja's around? Kudo's and great job.
WOW. I love this episode. It was funny and this Ryan kid is hilarious. I can understand why MADE picked this to be the 100th episode. I hope he continues changing and uses this as a catalyst to change his life for good. KUDO's to MTV and I hope they continue making more episodes with martial arts in it.
Wahoo!! Go Ryan. You did a great job! You accomplished a great goal. Pil-Sung!
Great Job RYAN!!!! PIL-SUNG! GRAND MASTER J.K. LEE BROOKFIELD, WISCONSIN JKLEEBLACKBELT.COM
I'm so proud of you brother! I was getting the same way you were, thank GOD I changed my ways. Starting soon, I am going to start Jeet Kune Do. Martial Arts is the way, keep at it. GOD Bless
