Bara leaves her family and boyfriend in the Czech Republic to play college basketball in New York; Thimonthy and his family of seven prepare to move from their refugee camp to America.
duncanch666 --> that comment of yours shows how little you know about the world. didn't you see the part where he lived in a refugee camp in Thailand? Didn't you see that they did'nt know how a toilet in the western world works?! Americans preach about how the american people have freedom and you can become anything you want over there. The only thing Thimonthy knew about this country was this and whatever he may have seen in movies, if he has seen any. How on earth was he supposed to know he was going to have to provide for his family this much. The reason that families in the less developed countries have so many kids is because they are their retirement and caretakers when they get old. Just like it used to be for American and European families until the mid-nineties. One last thing.. I saw absolutely nothing funny about a young guy having to work this hard to support his whole family!! Don't judge about things you know nothing about!!
barbara is RLLY tall :o
haha, his moms name is eh gay.
the people in this episode, more than anyone else, are really admirable. i mean, they have that episode with people in love triangles, but that's so petty compared to what bara and thimonthy have to go through.
I know you guys have been asking about updates on Thimonthy and I found some deleted scenes that shows some fun side to their comming out to America. Enjoy! http://kimbolina.blogspot.com/2008/02/refugee-on-mtv.html
what is the status of thimonthy and his family? how are they doing? this was the ultimate True Life episode, it actually hit me and am anxious to hear that they are doing good..

i really love this story of these 2 people its whows how many immigrants want a better life for them and thier families here in America, i have a BF in the Philipines who i love so much and she wants to come to America to better her life, her career, and choices but due to the visa charges and what it takes to become a citizen its too much and a hassle, because in her country u dont make money liek Americans do, id do anything to help her get the chance to better her situation1 Best of luck to bara and Thimonthy may everything work out for them!
