Jeremy is autistic and about to turn eighteen years old. He is trying to find his voice so that he can make some friends his own age.
This is so awesome!! Getting the word out helps people understand the disorder. I work with children who have autism and I def enjoy it. I think it is so important for people to accept and understand the disorder.
WOW I'm so sorry I never saw this show before now...As a mom of 2 teenage boy's I would love to tell all 3 of you young men how proud and inspired by all of you that I am. It takes alot of courage to be so open with your disability's but while watching how smart and talented you all are in your own way I totally forgot about you being labled with a disability... I wish you all the best in life and never change you are wonderful young men...God bless you
My 14 year old son has Aspergers. We live in a district that doesn't provide services, just problems. My son is a genius, but can' t deal with a regular school setting. These kids are so lucky they live in areas where they can get help. And the kids going to school with them are awesome,
i cried but not because its "so sad" it's not sad. really touching though
*who
how thaa hell is max? lolz
max is hottttttttttttttt
elijah is really really realllllly cute
Congratulations to all the cast and family members and of course to MTV for having the social conscience to put this together. It's all about peoples abilities and the different abilities they have. That's the approach Rudely Interrupted take and now we are invited to perform at the United Nations in December.
I thought that was so sweet how that kid max was talking him and trying to communicate with him because some teens aren't that nice. At the high school I went to, I volunteered to help out with the Unified Sports team, which had students on it that were autistic and they are just like normal teens and it makes me happy to see that more people are seeing them that way. There is hope. This Saturday (8/2/08) there is a special on with Jenny McCarthy, whos son is autistic and he will be "getting in the ring" for WWE Saturdays Event. Everyone should check it out!
KUDOS MTV!! My 10 year old son Noah was labeled with moderate/severe autism when he was 19 months old. I am very impressed with these 3 guys and their family. I KNOW how frustrating it is for everyone concerned. For all of Jeremys friends that showed up to his party...you guys are AWESOME and then some...I certainly hope your parents know what they have in you. Good luck and God bless Jeremy, Jon & Elijah moms and dads...YOU ROCK!!!!!!!!!!
this is so sad, I want to cry
this is an amazing episode! my 22 year old brother Jack has severe autism and he is in many ways similar to Jeremy in this episode of True Life. it is so wierd to have an older brother who seems as though he is not as smart as me... it is so sad! I am glad that this was a topic for this show because so many people think that autism is just being retarded. but, it isnt. it gives people a chance to see what autism is and how hard it is for the autistic person and their family.
so scarey and sad. these are some really brave young people. how dare we complain about our healthy lives
this is soo sad. i cried. i love truelife
i cried as well in this. my brother has a form of autism, and it's true, they really do try everything they can to be accepted in today's society. i'm extremely glad there is a rise in austism awareness nowadays because people need to understand this condition, and fully accept all those diagnosed.
Omg This is Soo sad i feel bad for Jermey beacuse he can't talk I mean like i would feel all depressed if i was him Soo yeah there all sad though !
this made me cry. these kids are beautiful. and an inspiration to me..they go through life with challenges. and they still have a positive outlook. you all are amazing
I have a daughter ,19, that has autism and with a lot of work over the years she is able to look people directly in the eyes, although with strangers or people she doesn't see too often she has to be reminded, but with me and some close friends she does it automatically.
All Autistic kids are different some kids may avoid eye contact but to some of them eye contact is nothing..
