I applaud him for even having the courage to exploit the negative images and behavior that is socially accepted in today's hip hop culture. Used to be radio wouldn't play anything CLOSE to what they are playing on mainstream hip hop stations today. I DJ parties on the side and the young women are hands down my main source for requests. What's surprising is, they only want to hear the rappers that degrade women and call them *******. If nothing else, this will spark dialogue on this matter. Keep pushing the envelope Lupe
that's great. love using my brain. gO LUPE.
its so oviouse hes exposing nicki minaj thank god some one finally exposes that stupid *****
I couldn't agree with you anymore. Extremely talented and compassionate brother!! A diamond in the rough in this crazy industry world!
nice
Actually, if you ask Dr. Dre or Snoop, they will say they were the root of the use of women in videos as you describe, not the white man. I would buy it if you said it was the industry moguls who pour in the money to keep it going and make money off of it. But even that is debatable since the age of the music video is nearly extinct...
Can someone please tell me why everytime someone of African American descent points out a wrong in our community, somone always picks out something wrong in how their doing it! I'm thrilled that he choose to discuss this new cancerous epidemic. I don't care WHAT other word he uses let's deal with the topic at hand. Lupe has hit i a chord with so many because the word ******* is used in favor. NO WOMAN SHOULD EVER ANSWER TO THE WORD *****. We are so focused on living up to what is told to us that we should be, that we forget to learn who we are. Some men say they want a (Bad *****) then when they get one, they would rather beat her then Love her. Then complain about how horrible she is. When they help create the behavior that has made this (*****). So kudos to Lupe for taking a true stand, from women who just wanna be women I say again THANK YOU!
Word from Lupe .. #Stay tuned
I love that the video right after it from Khleo Thomas looks like the video Lupe is parodying... oh the irony
LOVE IT........WOW
LUPE !! HIP HOP NEEDs YOU !!!
Lupe... Thank you so much,... the love and kindness that you have just put into images and words... Thank you... and please keep "Killing These *******", I see the devastation they have created everyday
That was awesome!
Lupe is the truth, plain and simple. Kudos to MTV for not censoring a lot of this like they usually would
I been on Lupe ever since I heard his verse on Touch the Sky and I had to learn more after that and got all the mixtapes and albums since. This is the most important song and video of the past few years to me and kudos to MTV for not censoring a whole lot of it like they usually do
Anyone else kind of annoyed that Khleo Thomas' "So Many Girls" comes on right after this? Juxtaposition at it's finest
He describe not just the music industry but also black entertainment as well
Lupe Fiasco is one of the most prolific, intelligent hip-hop artists we have today. There are so many messages in here. Not just the confusion and dichotomy regarding the word "*****" and the term "bad *****", but the source of this confusion (rappers and "video vixens") and the root behind that source as well (a rich white man with a wad of money). I love it. Not only does he is calling out the actions of the rapper and vixen as being the modern version of blackface, but also giving blame to the person who truly deserves it--the one who pays to help continue these caricatures in the media.
Lupe Fiasco and Childish Gambino need to collab on a song
I love this song and video. Lupe is on point with his words and this type of music is needed
