Actually later on they DO tell Sammi the truth, and she freaks out on them. Sammi does not want to hear it, because she is delusional and believes Ron loves her. I have always been told that if you fall in love twice, go for the second person; If you really loved the first, you wouldn't have fallen for the second. If he really loves Sam, the other girls would be obsolete to him.
