The comments on this show and most of the other shows amaze me how much the viewers rip on the parents. I only wish I had a dad like this!!! I suppose a lot of "fat" kids are watching these shows and venting their own feelings from their own disfunctional lives. Quit whallowing in your own self pity and do something about your life like all these people have! :)
273 lbs or 173 lbs she is gorgeous. The dad was almost funny with the outlandish things he said. but the brothers were definitely portrayed as ********.
Maybe the trainer should have changed her workout routine and diet to fit what her body needed burn calories faster!!!!@!! ps. I myself weighed 250lbs, and went down to 170 wih diet and exercise, and I did not work out 6 hours a day.... I battled weight up until age 24 with many diets / exercise that did not impact me losing weight... not every woman can eat the same nor have he same workout routine!
Her dad comes off as a dick. And he's obsessed with marriage because he's a mormon and that is what has to happen before you *GASP* turn 20!

I think this episode was so unfair to her Family. I think that all it takes is a producer getting a few sound bites to make her Dad look like a complete dick. But it was obvious he wanted to support her, he worked out with her. It's just selling TV and I hope her family was not too effected by MTv's need to sell commercials. Jerks.

the dad is way to obsessed with his kids getting married early on?? and that she has to be perfect for a guy to even want to date her let alone marry her and be the father of her children? it sends the wrong message. also if she has to be so damn perfect why didnt he make sure she didnt eat the foods that contributed to her being overweight and why not make her live a healthy life growing up> isnt part of being happy and healthy living a healthy life? she hasnt been given that. she has been able to do what she wants and its not working. they should start early on to make sure the kids grow up to be "perfectly thin" for the guy she ends up marrying....ugh i am so sick of this BS. The dad is an ASS!!! He doesnt support her in what she has to do to lose the weight but was so helpful in making her the way she is.000a000aI personally know that when i have kdis i will make sure they eat healthy and be active and not have to go through HELL to be thin. they will just grow up eating right and know nothing different. if they want the stuff that isnt good for them than they can have it at friend;s houses or gma's or whenever i am not around. I am overweight myself and working on living a healthlier life. I dont want my kids to grow up having to deal with the HELL that goes with it.

I want to also punch the dad, he's a real ******* going on about being married as if everyone who is married is instantly happy. Mac has done such a great job, putting in alot of effort, I wish her well in college and my advice would be to go have fun with your friends and live life to the max!

First of all I want to say that i am extremely proud of what mackenzie accomplished and for all the people who talk crap about her dad inparticular and her brothers yea they were mean to her at first and made fun of her but thats what some brothers do and as for her dad he just wanted her to be happy and he needed to see her in another light like he did when he went to go work out with her. I am so proud of everyone that has lost weight on this show!!!! I used to be fat as well i started off at 200 and i am down to 142 right now my goal is 128 so i have only 14 more pounds to go..I know that i can do it and i want to say that anything is possible as long as you are motivated and you are dedicated you will succeed!!!!

The dad is a jerk why is he so hung up on her finding a man,it's almost like he wants a man himself. And people lets not fool ourselves,when we wnna lsoe weight it is for us but it's also to het more attention from ythe opposite sex or whatever flots your boat,but yea i lost 90 pounds & i did it for myself but i also did it for the babes.

Oh my God is her father an ass. Naturally she is going to have no self confidence with a father constantly pounding into her head that her entire worth is based on how she looks. He should accept her regardless of her weight. And she is beautiful, both before and after losing weight. BACK OFF DAD -- and if I could I would replace "back" with a word that starts with F. God forbid she not find a man and instead live her life for herself!
