I was LDS up until my 40's, and I have to say I agree with Chris's mom that they are not ready (not too young since I have seen 18 and 19 year olds who are--my mom included), but when a person thinks the wedding is all about them and only them, that is concerning. I wish them well and hope they are together 5 years later, but I don't know. I was shocked. I went to BYU in the 80's and saw many an 18 or 19 year old get married, but they acted waaayyy older and more mature! Just so you know, I'm not anti-Mormon by any stretch and am partial to the idea that late teenage marriages are just fine. It all has to do with emotional maturity...which I really don't think I saw in this couple. I felt for Amanda's mom because it appears she recognized this, too.

dud e she is a spoiled ass brat its just not HER wedding its his too and shes shoving his familey outta of it! Part of marriage is to meet n the middle and be equal...and he pry sacraficed a lot of his beliefs for her and now this? y cant she do the damn ceremony and let his sister read a 2 minute poem? dnt understand how its being ruined!?

It's pretty obvious that Chris only converted to LDS for Amanda because if he truly believed in it then he would've waited to marry Amanda until after he went on a two year mission. It's pretty much expected of all young men in the Mormon faith.

The wedding is one day. The marriage is a lifetime. She gets what she wants and then all she has to do is a ring ceremony...spoiled?

omg amanda needs to grow up and stop being selfish. I understand it is ur wedding but what about the families? im getting married soon and not only am I marrying my bf but im marrying his family as well, familiy is ahuge part in a wedding, my bf's fam would be very hurt if they werent there
