This song haunts me, it reminds me of my mother every time i hear it. It sucks that i didn't realize sooner how much she meant to me and sucks even more that i only had 18 years with her. I was a kid i was angry and then she died...now i can never show her that i know that things weren't her fault that life just happens. I miss her.

My guess is that this song is about Christina and her r/ship with her father. He was the one who raised her since she was a little girl, spent quality time with her and taught her everything she knows. When she began her singing career, however, she rose to stardom immediately, and her fame negatively affected her r/ship with her dad. Christina regrets blaming him for her own faults and weaknesses. Now... he is dead and gone forever. That is why she would give anything to have that "one chance to see him again." A message to everyone: love your dad or mom or anyone special in your life while they are still living, b/c one day he/she will really, really be GONE... :(
