The story that is being told by the campers also depicts that he is thought of as a murderer. In the ending, he falls from the tree, again because someone else is telling the story. The reason he is appearing then is to kill the campers because he is a murderer( according to the campers)
While you're dead on on most of that, you got the clothing part wrong. Donald Glover (aka Childish Gambino) is rather fond of short shorts as you could tell from what he's wearing on most of his live performances and some of his lyrics; "In Adidas with some short shorts." And as for the color of the shirt, you should clearly see the dude with the knife wearing the same colored short. As for the significance of the triple deep-v, it's probably just 'cause he's part hipster. P.S. Sorry to troll.
I don't understand this dude is killin it. I didn't even know he rapped I thought he was just the actor in the video and someone else was doin the rappin but then I looked him up. He rappin better than some of the dudes I listen to.
