I love Chairlift!! They are one of my favorite bands and I'm so happy they were nominated!! :D
“Who the hell is this???” you ask. This is Chairlift! Chairlift are a group of artists who actually deserve the title. This is not the usual, by the numbers stuff, the music industry believes we want ad nauseam. No. Chairlift are exciting innovators. I think the video speaks for itself. It is not so much a video for a song as it is a striking breakthrough in visual and audio art that together form a modern masterpiece. Just call it genius. “Evident Utensil” should be permanently installed in the greatest art museums in the world. I am pleased that Chairlift was nominated for their video because they deserve it. Their video is truly breakthrough and profoundly beautiful and exciting. This video will also provide greater exposure to the musical excellence that is Chairlift and that is a very good thing for both them and us. -Eric Chicago.

Chairlift is amazing in every way. If you ever wondered what creative genius looks like, you can stop here. Your journey is over. The lyrics and music are not songs. No, they transcend that title. Chairlift on record or live is a total heart mind body spiritual experience. I know I sound new agey-believe me, I am not that kind of guy. However, when you hear the same cd repeatedly and see the same band over and over and all of it kicks your butt HARDER each time, you become a true believer. The lyrics and music are sophisticated, fresh, innovative, surprising, inspiring, and funny. The musicianship is first rate. Caroline, the female lead singer, is the capper. She has the most unbelievable direct from heaven singing voice you have ever heard. You will swoon! You will know what the phrase “to be in thrall” means. I am not kidding. She is so talented! She writes the songs. She plays the keyboards-when she starts to play the keyboards, I lose my mind. Then there is her beauty. I have to mention it because it cannot be ignored. This is not your average beautiful. No, this is GODDESS beauty. I am not in love or in lust. I mention this just as a fact. She has the kind of beauty you read about in Greek myth. Again, not kidding. I have seen her up close. You think if you get close enough there will be a flaw. Something that proves she is human. Nope. Up close, her beauty is simply closer. More awe ensues from us mere mortals. You combine all of this and it is heady stuff indeed. Trust me, you cannot resist. Why bother trying? You will cave. You are human. Chairlift is not. One last thing. If “Evident Utensil” does not win the breakthrough video award, I am going to be VERY unhappy! So stop reading this and VOTE FOR CHAIRLIFT! -Eric Chicago
