Must be a rich kid/spoiled person to think everyone had access to a computer, or a webcam device, I know about computers as well, and I had dial up even in 2005 when dsl existed, wifi existed. Also didn't get a webcam until 2007. And the picture quality sucked and on dial up near impossible.

I feel like she didn't want him as much after she found out that he was heavy. That kinda made me sad. I thought Matt was a really nice guy, and he's definitely determined and he's working to better himself. I'm proud of him and I thought he was a pretty cool person. Especially since he talked about everything and cried some hearty man tears on camera. Not gonna lie, I cried a little too. I understood wanting to kill yourself because you feel too big, and feeling hopeless between the sadness and the anger at yourself. I've never experienced being 600 lbs, but I'm currently between 190-200 and for a while I really hurt about it. But I've been working at it, so it's all good. :)

omg this episode was saaadd! I bawled my eyes out! I hope they end up together and that she realizes that she's no skinny mini so she should maybe give the big guy a chance they are obviously meant for eachother!

not everyone had a computer in their home in the 90s . Just because skype exists doesnt mean people knew about it.

Matt, You are an awesome dude!! Keep up the freaking awesome job at getting right getting it tight!! You are an inspiration!!! Totally think Kim should've been there for you during your weight tribulations. It's annoying because you didn't want to meet her yet till you were 100%. And also, she's a huge liar. Very Shallow. I completely agree with the above posters. He seems like such a great guy! Even with those music videos, he was really nice and honest with her upon meeting. I just want to hug him or adopt him! :) She's WAY too shallow. Her own looks are nothing special, and I don't feel like she has ANY room to be judging him. Did he say he lost 65 lbs?! WOW! Just wow! He's even actively working on his looks, too.

But...it did exist in 2003. They had plenty of opportunities to skype, or even use AOL Instant Messenger (originally released in 1997, and CAN use video chat with it). There are plenty of programs that could have been used back there, including some from Blink, Avaya, and Yahoo! Messenger...so don't act like just because "it was sooo long ago", that it couldn't happen. I went to high school during 1997, and trust me...I KNOW about computers. Things like video chatting were NOT that "out there". They were being done already, albeit with terrible quality...but they were being done. These are mainly just excuses from people.
