I can't believe Matt ignored Alex's texts when she told him that she was going into labor. What a douche! If it were me, I would texted him with, "if you don't show up by the time my baby comes out of my body, you are out of my life forever, and the only connection you will have with your baby will be when we collect child support from you."

First off, regardless of the age.. this mom of the 16yr old is a b****. Second, Matt is a loser... People just need to be giving supportive advice on either side of decision!!! ugh

Just a few thoughts. These kids are in no position to support a child. Matt did say at one point in time and certainly implied through his actions, that it was in the best interest of the their baby if they gave it up for adoption. He is not capable of raising a child- he potentially has a drug problem, and if not, is very immature. It is not the responsibility of Alex's mother to support her or the baby. She is trying to get Alex to understand how hard it is to be a single mother and the baby is better off with parents who can offer her stability, and a future that Alex is unable to. Alex is being extremely selfish by keeping her baby. Most of these girls should be thinking of the betterment of the baby and the life adoption could provide them - both the babies and the mothers. Few are the exception.

I agree with you. If the parents help, I consider it a bonus, but they're not obligated. And I don't know how these girls wait so long with no plan. I don't know what I would do... but I don't blame her mom.

Alex is obviously a hard worker and i believe she can be a good mom and succeed in what she wants to either way. it will just be so very hard for her and she will have to change so much. i have faith in her. as much as i disagree with her moms choice i guess she had the right to do what she did and felt that she was doing the best thing for everyone as much as she could. you cant have a baby and expect help with it.

I know her mother seems unsupportive but I think she is just trying to get her to understand the hardships of raising a baby at 17. I think that her friends family gave her a great opportunity and that she really should have taken it. Those people really wanted a baby and would have given the world to her while Alex can provide love but could not care for her financially.

Anybody else catch how Alex says that she and Matt met 2 years ago, when they were sophomores...then later when he's talking to the prospective adoption couple he says that she's a senior and he's gonna be a junior next year? Lol, nice, I didn't get that before. Oh what a sad situation- she needs to suck it up and choose adoption, and he needs rehab...
