One In Three Ninth Graders Won't Graduate

High school dropouts earn thousands less than graduates and are more likely to end up in jail, yet one in three ninth graders doesn't earn a diploma. A Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation study found that boring classes, bad grades and personal problems led students to leave school, while programs with small classes, increased attention and a variety of approaches to learning had fewer dropouts.
