Where/how can I find the latest news on my favorite artist?
Check out the News area on MTV.com. You can search for your favorite artists, read the latest in music news and look up previous news, check out the weekly music charts, tell us what you think about an article, and read other viewers' opinions.
Why don't you report on (fill in the name of an artist you're interested in)?
We do! Check the MTV News Archive for a complete listing of every story we've done on every artist we cover or do a search using the search box at the top of every page. Odds are we've reported on whomever you're asking about, but you didn't visit our headlines page that day. While the Bands area of MTV.com has listings for the majority of artists we cover, some smaller acts are found only in the News Archive.
How can I search archived feature stories?
Never got a chance to read that article on your favorite artist last summer? Then search the News Archive within our News section. You can search alphabetically, or enter the artist’s name into the search box provided.
How can I search for articles by byline/author?
In the search box at the top of any page, simply enter the name of the author or the byline and select ‘search news’ from the pull-down.
Where do you get your news stories?
The news on MTV.com comes from MTV News on-air and online departments. MTV News writers and reporters are constantly talking to artists and music industry sources to directly report what is going on around the country. We also work with the news departments of our international MTV affiliates.
What's the difference between the online news and the news that airs on MTV?
MTV News reports many more stories each day than we have time to air on TV, so all of MTV News' stories are published on MTV.com. Also, many of the interviews that we've done with artists are turned into feature reports, allowing you to find out more than you would have if you'd only watched MTV News on television.
Why do you report on artists that MTV doesn't play?
MTV News has always reported on many more artists than the channel has time to play videos for because we know you're interested in them.
